Searching the forum it seems the info available on the sunshine state is largely restricted to Miami.

For Oct/Nov I’m planning a road trip through the state with 3-4 stops starting in the aforementioned city. But what are the other great places to see and experience? I’ve done the amusement parks and would rather concentrate on relaxation/beaches/cultural spot this time around.

I’m bringing my own talent for this trip so gaming isn’t really a factor, though if there’s any exceptional spots for it I might check it out for future consideration.

Can't believe I missed this, I hit the search function pretty hard. Thanks guys.

El Mech, what do you consider redneck stuff? My reference is Kentucky where I spent a year. I'd be cool to discover the more genuien parts of the state. Clearwater and Sarasota looks cool from the link above but they seem to be beach destinations and I'm not sure how buzzing they will be in early November.

Brilliant, how far north in the state do I have to go to experience that?

It seems that there's a smattering of options in the Tampa area with its many small communities.

As a guy who has lived there for a few years, avoid North Florida in most cases. Most threads are dedicated to Miami since that is the only World Class city it has. Orlando is good for a family vacation (DISNEY!) but it is a pretty ghetto city. Be aware though, most of Florida is really "southern" so if you are a foreigner you may not enjoy North Florida at all.

I would definitely check out west/south palm, Ft. Lauderdale, and if you're hitting up the keys Key West can be pretty sick, also Tampa/Naples on the West Coast. Basically, anywhere on the coast in Florida is nice and most inland places are kinda run down and there's not many good spots, besides Orlando but that's more of a family spot.

Lots of redneck fun here in Northwest Florida of the sort El Mech mentions, plus we have beach resorts too. Everyone has their own tastes, but if I were European, one of the things i would most want to experience would be American rural culture because it is so inherently American and I suppose "exotic" compared to European experience. A while back there was a local newspaper article on a nearby "Possum Festival" that included an interview with a Swedish couple who said they were touring Florida and came to the festival because they wanted to experience authentic American culture. Nothing says "My American trip" more than a photo of you holding a possum ha

Here is my data sheet on Panama City Beach http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-14027.html. I will be posting datasheets on Destin and Pensacola in the next month or so.

I've spent the evening checking out School bus figure 8 racing on youtube. I'm equally parts having a blast while feeling my IQ simultaneously deteriorate. Still I'm oddly jealous we don't have cool shit like that at home.

So I got a couple on nights booked (with the option for a free cancellation) at Beso del sol.
Combining this with some Oktoberfest in Cape Coral and a stay at the Four Seasons in Fort Lauderdale (though I'm considering the W as well).

How's St Pete's beach in clearwater though? Checking some forums people claim it's better than Clearwater beach but I'd trust the people here over the gen pop.

Check this place out in St. Pete beach.

http://postcardinn.com/

The St. pete beach area is 50 times the size of Clearwater and more Europeans go there. I'm not sure which you will like but at the BESO I can tell you exactly where to go in that area.

This island is right behind the Beso..

Hey lay it on me. I'm a sucker for tiki drinks [Image: gay.gif] so I considered it a sign from above that Beso had a tiki bar.

I prefer Clearwater beach. I did have a good time at St Pete' beach this past Memorial Day Weekend though. I heard the best beach in Florida is in Siesta beach in Sarasota. It is about an hour from where I am at.

Hey Vicious,

If you like cool and interesting micro breweries, walk a few blocks up Bayshore towards downtown and stop in the 7th Sun Brewery. Its a tiny little brew pub owned by a young couple. He started out brewing for one of the big breweries in town and now has his own place.

The Orange Graffiti is my favorite, but they have many other choices on the darker, more robust end of the spectrum.

FYI, that little mom and pop hotel right across from BESO is lovely and about 1/3 the price. And you can walk right across the street to the Tiki bar.

Hey Mech,

I commute in and out - I'm down there about 1 week out of each month. I've got a condo over in Hyde Park (South Tampa) that's currently rented out long-term.

Last few trips down, I've stayed in Dunedin at one of the three little mom and pop hotels at the corner of 580 and Bayshore (Alt 19). The one right across from Beso is a gem. They all run about $300/wk.

I had two girls from there on my boat all night for a fuckfest a couple weeks ago. They're sending me pictures making out with other girls all day on Sunday. Their lifestyle is so nuts I had to take a break from them.

I don't mind the rates actually, I'm blowing more every night at the 4S in FLL than I'm doing on my entire stay in Tampa. But I'm a sucker for smaller charming places with personality. Do you know the name? Can't find it my map searching in google.

I've heard Caliente is off the chain. I've been occupied with a little Asian side piece - she's been keeping me off the streets when I've been in town for the last six months or so.

That may be about over, so I'll probably be back on the prowl down there.
