In my opinion, based on what I've read here, other blogs, other news, etc, basically Obama is putting a blind eye on everything remotely true, just to be reelected. Nothing can be more full of shit.
But that's just my opinion.

I want to know how they define "stronger, safer, and more respected."

Well it's easier to be more respected without George Bush in the White House, so that's not saying much. I'd say that is pretty objective.

Obama must not think he's lying since his speech writer wrote it.

Obama said the United States "led from the front" in an international military campaign in Libya, countering a Romney assertion that the president has led from behind in world affairs. And Obama insisted the U.S. will maintain its military superiority in the world, amid Romney's charges Obama is poised to weaken U.S. defenses.

Maybe for the public eye, but honestly Obama is talking out of his ass again.

We live in a country where the smart have no power and the stupid run wild. A country where being a bitch is legal but being a man isn't. A country where its okay for women to be sumo wrestlers, but not okay for men to not have a cent to his name. This is the home of the betas, white knights, gold diggers, feminists, fatties, Facebook, all of that stuff that kills society. Theres no way a regular person who reads on game and practices it, while also building a lifestyle that empowers him and not the woman beside him.

I'm bitter as hell about a lot of things lately. Maybe it's normal maybe it's not. But I will say this: disregard the well being of this country, but care only about your well being.

Nope.

Stronger, safer and more respected than 4 years ago? Lets see, 4 years ago was May 27th 2008.

1) More respected? George Bush was president in 2008, he is not now. Easy Yes for Obama on this one.

2) Safer? Well, we have more of our fighting force back home since we pulled out of Iraq, Bin Laden is dead, and Al Quaida has had their leadership devastated (but not destroyed). I see no significant additional threats today that were not there in 2008 (Iran had a nuclear program back then, too). So, I am going to have to give this one to Obama as well.

3) Stronger? What the heck does that mean? Economically? Not really. Remember that the bubble had not completely popped by May of 2007, although we were already in recession.
a) Home prices had begun to drop, but had not fallen through the floor yet.
b) Unemployment was only 5.5%, not the 8.3 or so that it is now.
c) The Dow Jones Industrial average closed at 12548.35 on May 27th 2008. This past Friday, it closed at 12454.83, just under a 100 points lower.

I give him 2 out of 3 (more respected and safer, but not stronger).

Both main political parties are dragging this country down. That's plain and simple in my opinion. They do whatever they can to stay in power, and if that means screwing over most people in favor of whatever special interest is footing their bills, then so be it. The trajectory this country is heading for is one where a few people live in gated communities with electrified fences and armed guards.

The amount of respect a country receives doesn't depend on its president, he's only a factor.
You can make a survey all around the world to see if people sincerely think the USA is a better country than theirs, I bet most would say no. Perhaps, said "respect" comes out of fear.

Safer, depends on what kind of threat, terrorism is being greatly boasted by media, it's not really the threat they would like you to believe it is, exempli gratia, more people die from, well, pretty much everything than terrorist attacks in the usa
If he's talking about robberies, murders and general domestic crimes, I truly have no idea how that stuff is in the US, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt in this one.

I give him .5 out of 3.

What's your source? I thought the unemployment rate was fairly close to what it is now when Bush left office. http://data.bls.gov/pdq/SurveyOutputServlet

Safer from whom?

I don't feel safer from my own government.

If you think of economic well-being as a measure of safety, then we are much less safe.

Nothing will be better or worse under Romney, though.

The Bailouts (started under Bush and supported and carried out under Obama) should haven woken Americans up.

And yet guys will debate politics to the end of time, arguing that their side is better.

It's sad...no, the better word is pathetic.

The most recent BLS stat is that unemployment is 8.1% as of April, not 8.3 as I mistyped. May unemployment back in 2008 was 5.4% (the chart you posted shows this).

Here are my stats:
http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000

Go to the bottom chart and you can see the month by month unemployment stats from 2002 to April of this year. Unemployment hit its peak of 10% in October of 2009 and has dropped to 8.1% now.

Safer yes, more respected yes, but stronger no way. Although for that part, I blame the Republicans more than him.

More respected?

China and Russia are upping the levels of aggression enormously. Iran IS building a bomb despite the threats and sanctions. You are seeing a rise in regulation against expats and foreign earnings that has resulted in foreign companies refusing to service American customers. Afghanistan is a write off. Pakistan is harboring terrorists. North Korea is testing missiles.

As for safer?

If you were not in half these wars and conflicts your only real problem would be crime. Which is the only real threat to your safety anyway to be honest. The world is not looking to bomb you guys, they just want to be left the fuck alone. So are crime stats up or down? Thats about the only thing affecting your safety.

If he is talking about the economy being stronger, safer and more respected, he must be trolling. His administration has been god awful. Sadly, I dont think Romney will matter. I think both parties are pretty much cut from the same cloth anyway.

OK, so unemployment was 7.8% when Bush left office in January 2009 and its 8.1% now. We are America so those that see themselves as strong, probably see America as strong. Meanwhile, those that see themselves as weaklings probably don't recognize strength. The President has done some good things and also made mistakes, as we all do.

BLS metrics are not accurate and not give a true number for unemployment. But if you really want to use BLS stats then you should point out that after 2008 all the jobs that we're lost and re-couped have been replaces with lesser paying, lower skilled alternatives. Those public sector jobs paying middle class wages ...gone. The top end service jobs ... gone. What good is employment if its shitty work that does not meet or keep up with the costs of living?

Obama will spin it that Americans are "back to work" but how come with only 8% of the population out of work you have 40-50 million Americans on food stamps, 17% youth un-employment rate, or 100-110 million Americans classified as low-income? He's full of shit.

Instead of using this recession/depression to re-build Americas decaying infrastructure and put people to work and build tangible things which would help the economy grow he shuffles trillions up trillions to USA and Overseas banks. Its not even an Obama thing tho, Kerry, Bush, Romney all would of done the same. Its a matter of waking up and stop being sympathetic for these empty suits.

People act like his job is so damn hard. Being a political hack is hard, but being President in this modern age is not.
