I would try Southern France. Marseille, Toulon, Montpellier and Perpignan are all close to each other and you even have Barcelona nearby if you feel like stopping over the border. You dont need to be in Paris to get your French flag, plus Southern France is very popular amongst many Europeans during spring/summer.

My vote's for Paris. Personally, and judging from the other votes, I think a lot of guys are interested in that city and it would be cool to get a field report type deal before heading over. When I first read the title, I thought it was going to be the next extended stay.. in which case I was going to say Balkans. Reading further, I see that is going to be the next extended stay and there's going to be a Southern European beach in July (I was then going to recommend Barcelona for a month).

So with my 2 choices already in the mix from July and onwards, I say a Low Countries tour... start in Paris, but then hit Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg etc.

If you're going to be sandwiched by Ukraine and someplace like Serbia, where the people are rude, the service sucks, and no one speaks English you might as well get some decently friendly people (ok, not Paris, but the other places), good food, good service, nice amenities and some English speakers. Plus, Belgian and Dutch chicks in my experience have been good looking and not fat, so hopefully the women will be all right too... hope it isn't like Denmark!

Maybe I just missed it but I was never sure where this Russian speaking Industrial Shithole is. Are you in Belarus or Ukraine?
