Going to agree with the majority of guys here - it's rare for me to see a couple where the girl is extremely attractive and the guy is beta.

But even when the girl is very good looking, usually the guy is at least on the same level.

I guess sociologists would call this 'assortative mating'.

Except that of course we see guys dating down, sometimes far down all the time.

I am friends with a fair amount of good looking guys, none of them know how to approach girls outside of their social circle.

Here's an example:

I know a guy. He's 6'3", fairly good looking, and has an Adonis-type body. He has had sex with some pretty hot girls, but for the longest time his fuck buddy was this chick who is a 5.5.

Why? There were not any hot girls in his immediate social circle.

Maybe I see things differently because I live in a college town. There are a lot of hot girls around here. This is to the point where there are more attractive girls around than there are attractive men. The only reason why an attractive guy would not be dating one of them is because he is not approaching any of them.

I realize that what I said sounds like hippy-dippy BS, but I am just trying to be positive.

Instead of looking at the dark clouds, why not try and find the silver lining?

A lot of guys may not have the lives they want to have, but you can always improve yourself.

I see the situation the OP describes, quite often. The men who are most effected by this phenomenon are the "naturals". I know natural guys who never had as much of a problem getting girls as I used to. They still have no problem gaining female attention. However, when a lot of these guys fall for a chick, she'll have them looking really stupid out here. The reason is the following: His gifts as a "natural" are what landed this hot broad, but he doesn't have the thorough knowledge of game to keep her in her place.
