I've been in the community for a bit and not entirely without game.
Saturday afternoon, I number closed the cute girl who is reception for my hair salon by asking, "Why aren't you my girlfriend?" (a line from Zan) This was after some fun banter. She happily numbered up.
But the problem is actually the girl who I met Saturday night at the Carnegie Club in Manhattan. (it a high end cigar bar) She is Chinese, not sure that it matters... After I opened with something about my iPhone, we had a great convo... I told her I was going to Harlem on Monday and she said she had never been, hinting that she wanted to go. I said that I could call her tomorrow with details and she acted happy. She called my iPhone so I would have her number so I know it was a good number close.
She seemed to enjoy my occasional touches (nonsexual) during our conversation. I'll admit that after just meeting a man in a bar, agreeing to go to Harlem to a jazz club might seem quite adventurous. But I qualified her for being adventurous; she is into exciting things like skydiving etc...
When I called her on Sunday, she didn't pick up or return my calls.
Any theories as to why a woman would fake interest and keenly give her number. Do you think that she got home and realized that it would be too scarey to go out and meet someone she just met....
Thanks,
Dr. Dupree
