What is your style when it comes to workout gear?

Some people like to go to the gym and look flashy with Bright colors. Other people, like myself, prefer to stick with darker colors. I'll usually wear white shirts with black shorts and black Nikes. The only time I wear anything colorful to the gym is when I want to look like a blood and I'll wear a red shirt, red shorts, and red Nikes.

How about you guys?

Funny you should post this as I just got dressed to roll to the gym. I go Tyson style. All black. Black shorts, faded black tshirt, black socks and black sneakers and sometimes a black zip-up sweat jacket if it's cold at night and I'm walking there. None of that colorful shit for me.

I try to look good but unassuming. A snug cotton shirt, not the bright moisture wicking ones. Not really concerned if it starts to collect sweat -- that's fine if people know I'm working hard. I think the guys that cut out giant holes where their sleeves are supposed to be look stupid, even if they're jacked. My opinion is that it works in your favor to show less but suggest more. If you leave something to the imagination, it will be more intriguing than if you simply went shirtless. I like earth tones. The gym is for business.

Sometimes rock a combination of black wife beater with blue/black shorts and white tennis.

Sometimes a white V-Neck with same blue/black shorts.

Do you work out in West Hollywood? If so, this should be a topic of great concern to you.

BTW, never ask a dude who wears gloves in the gym for a spot. Every single time I ask one of these guys, I find they have no clue on how to spot, and lift the bar when you don't need help. They themselves do sets on the bench where the first rep is done solo, and the last 12 assisted by their equally scrawny friend.

I go with vibrams for the feet, black pants or Marine Corps sweats, and an old t-shirt. I don't wear gloves. Women like rough hands.

Same here.

Call me old school, but I just use whatever old t-shirts I can find along with a random pair of shorts. Nothing complicated needed. Then again, I don't go to the gym to pick up chicks. If it happens it happens. Occasionally I'll rock my Marine Corps Marathon gear though.

LIKE THIS!!!!

Because I know G loves this guy.

But yeah, bare chested is the only way to go. If you can't be fucked to run five miles to work up a proper sweat, pour a gallon of water over yourself first (before you go inside). Don't bring a towel.

I will peacock the fuck out of that gym and any underarmor/glove-wearing fag in there - who is not in ketosis.

Remember... any attention is good attention and we're at the gym to get attention, right?

A year from now you'll wish you started today

Exactly. Gym is me time. Its the 5+ a week I spend with women never on my mind so that I can be that much more beastly when women ARE on my mind. This breaks occasionally when I end up staring at some chicks ass inbetween sets though [Image: angel.gif]

Disappointed and surprised that some put so little effort in. Even at the gym one should aim to dress their best.

The most common mistakes that men make in the gym:

- Ill-fitting clothes. There is nothing worse than seeing those dressed in overly baggy clothing. It looks sloppy. The solution to this is to go down in sizes in the changing room until what you are wearing is too tight. Then go up a size. Most 180lbs men with muscle will generally need small or medium. Wearing correct fitting clothing is the key and will make you look a million dollars.

- Poor colour choices. A lot of men wear a grotesque palette. Simple is the key. Black and white, navy and grey work well.

- Short-shorts. Some men wear hilariously short shorts. Daisy dukes are for the women, not men. Get a short that ends at a thin part of the leg. At the knee or just above.

- Ghetto-wear (wife-beaters, shirts with the sleeves torn off). Black men can sometimes get away with this, if at the expense of looking sloppy. White men; oh god no, just no! [P.s. Unless you're 270lbs and cannot get your arms into an XXXL, you do not need to wear either.]

- 'Fashion' wear. A man does not look good parading as a walking billboard. And a man is a fool for dropping the cash on expensive work-out gear.

- Wrong shoes for the job. If you are deadlifting you need a flat sole shoe. Chuck Taylors are the classic. Plimsoles can work. Vibrams look hideous.

- Wearing dirty clothing. We all sweat, that is a given. But you need to wash your gear once a week. Otherwise that shit is nasty.

Roll out of bed, through on the nearest shirt I find, my trusty gym shorts. Slip on my Free Runs. Grab my pink water bottle and roll out. Rocking the beanie since its still winter here.

Pink towel, Pink shoes, Pink whatever isnt worn on my body. When someone grabs my shit by "accident" I know it.

God'll prolly have me on some real strict shit

Black fitted cut sleeve tshirt. Black addidas shorts and black Nikes with dark blue colors/laces.

Nothing fancy, comfortable for a heavy workout and hides sweat spots, unlike other colors.

I can't help but try to game at the gym because its full of athletic women which I love lol.

As far as gear goes I wear my old football training gear or random T-shirts. Black or red shorts. I used to always wear under-armor tops as I found it kept my muscles warm and lifting easier, got away from that but still wear the shorts as sweaty boxers aint comfy and ride up on your shiiiiiit maaaaayyyne.

High socks tho. Don't care. High socks always, just my thing. Lol.

In a perfect world I would go shirtless by most gyms have stupid rules against that.

Whats your take on the Vibrams? Ive been intending on buying a pair, if nothing else for the sake of their freaky looks.

Last time I bought a pair of 'minimalist' running shoes that have soles just a few millimeters thick, and they have been great on my feet so far.

I don't work out in a gym, I just do a convict workout to keep in shape, in addition to playing sports, hiking, etc.

Regardless, when I'm putting in a serious workout, I just throw on a pair of mesh basketball shorts, a wifebeater or a white tee, and my raggedy ass pair of Nike Shox that I've had since god knows when.

You know what? It works.

Your assertions are ignorant and sacrifice function for aesthetic. Your mindset does not represent someone who is serious about health and fitness.

wife-beaters, shirts with the sleeves torn off, should be the type of clothing worn at the gym as it promotes aeration and ease of mobility.

Going back on topic I wear vibram shoes, shorts above the knees and sleeveless polyester shirts that fit snug against the body. Nothing is ever baggy or loose.

Anything that promotes aeration is ideal. I train at a powerlifting gym so often times i just go shirtless

No offence to any of the guys rocking sleeveless shirts, but at my gym these are the guys that smell terrible. They never seem to realize why there's a 6 meter buffer zone around them even when the gym is packed. This goes without saying but don't be that guy.

I keep it pretty simple. Dark grey shorts and under armour, and some white and orange Timberland trainers. I wear gloves cause I hate having my hands get all cut to shit and I'm a huge germaphobe.

If you dont smell you aren't working hard enough. I cut the sleeves off my shirts because they bind around my arms when I'm lifting and this limits my range of motion.

In general my answer to the question you didnt ask is
