Of course if blacks state that they prefer to live among other blacks, that's perfectly fine. Or Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, Mongols, Russians, Philippines, bloody Eskimos, whatever... After all you'll always find 'Little Tokyo', 'Korea Town', 'China Town', 'Russian Hill'. etc. if you visit any larger U.S. metropolis. It's fine for them.

Interesting point. I think way back in the day when Europeans were newer to the American continent, there was certainly more pride in at least their actual specific roots (whether Irish, Italian, German, Polish, English, Scottish, Dutch, etc.). It was allowed for folks to celebrate their heritage & be proud of their roots. But at the same time folks were proud to be patriotic Americans. If more folks in this country were proud patriots & allowed groups to respectably celebrate their heritage at the same time, half of this nation's problems would probably disappear. Easier said than done of course.
