It looks like it to me when I visit there. To be honest, I am surprised that it was on the list of the "most whitest towns" that red pillage was referring to. It is also a port town, so take that for what it is worth. It is an old town and there is a part of town near the port terminals that is run down for sure even with the gentrification that is happening in Charleston. I do know that suburbs like Mount Pleasant look like nice places and I believe that places around James Island may be nice as well. In a decision like this visiting the town is the most important thing to do.
