This story is pretty funny because the company literally went broke.

Imagine that.

Six months after opening in 2011, leaders saw things at the Oregon cafe they hadn’t seen in Missouri or Michigan. Grant High School students mobbed the cafe daily, ordering multiple meals and not paying for them. Homeless people came for every meal — every day — as if the cafe was a soup kitchen. Hollywood neighbors complained of an increase in crime and loitering.

I'm not sure what they expected would eventually happen.

The story is a hilarious one indeed. The idea that this kind of business would not attract scores of homeless, junkies, criminals as well as loitering youth - that eluded them.

Another long-forgotten get woke go broke experiment was executed by the American founding fathers in the first 2 years:

Ideally maybe in the future you could argue that humanity may be able to create a money-less society when technology takes care of most shitty jobs and people choose to work in a profession where they can serve while the few who are do-nothing bums are ostracized by society. But such a system can at best be an utopian idea. Currently a for-profit free market system is the best we can think of - best without usury, but that is a different topic.

So yeah - the US initially almost went belly-up as the settlers were utopian thinkers. Guess Whites were always some sort of dreamers and idealists.
