Not even close. Real Kobe beef is rarely on the menu outside of Japan, and the "wagyu" is rarely Japanese. If it is, you'll know as the price will be eye-watering. As for sushi and sashimi, the mid-price stuff in Japan is better than you'll find anywhere else except for a handful of the world's most elite establishments.
