Jariel has it. In warm weather climates, muscles really don't help that much. You'll need to leverage many other things, however I found it easier to meet and talk to all types of women in warm city climates. Friends are easier to make and people socialize a lot more.
Whereas in cold climates, you need muscles to achieve that same level of interest warm weather climate women have. I find being a bigger guy than most of the cold weather schlubs gives me an edge.
Still lift for myself though. The feels I get lifting help quell my anger. I'd go postal if it wasn't for the gym.
