Yeah, there might be issues with being 18. Russia might not be as kind as if you were 25, but still worth checking out. Ditto for spending that time learning a language -- Spanish, French, Russian, or Chinese. On your map, you should swap Iran (actually good place for sex) for India. Possibly Bulgaria for Austria. I also wouldn't miss the big capitals of western europe. As mentioned, you'll meet loads of backpacker chicks in the hostels. And western Europe is generally a nice f*cking place to visit. If travelling for 9 months, you should see the world, in which case I definitely wouldn't write it off...
