bump, because there is no "change avatar" option visible in my control panel, though the above link did work to bring this option up
[later] actually, the problem was that I had MyBB GoMobile and my mode for for viewing forum. Switched to default viewing mode and everything works now. I created my account while in Europe and all I had available then was a mobile phone. Could never figure out why the Reply with Quote option didn't work. I think new accounts should be setup with Default rather than MyBB GoMobile as initial viewing mode.
