Surgeons work 72+ hours a weeks easily. Infectious Diseases is not considered to be a demanding specialty, so I doubt he works this much.
Everyone on here assumes he is rolling in money as well. However, it seems like they said he is "in training", which means he is still in residency. Residents are supervised by doctors and make between 50-60k until they can practice independently. Infectious diseases doctors generally make around 120-200k per year, but this salary is reduced by having to pay back the crazy amount of student loans people take to finance med school these days.
