I've had bad acne for a good part of my life. I've figured a few things that severly limit it:
1) Wash you sheets and towels twice a week
2) Drink a shitload of water
3) Do not masturbate more than once a week
4) Drink more water
5) Never, Ever, Ever, wear clothes more than once without washing
6) Use lots of lotion, never let you skin get dry, the dead skin can cause acne
7) Never pick at any bump any time anywhere on your skin. I squeeze my blackheads, but that is it
