*EDIT*
I just re read this and thought I would clarify some things.
You actually walk across the tarmac to the stairs into the plane that are open at the front and rear exits of the plane.
At two of the airports I was at, we had to take a bus to the plane (Malpensa Milan, Marco Polo Venice). This means that you might be even further from the gate than you think. I usually post up in the lounge before flights, until the last minute but be careful with EasyJet. Scope out the "holding area" so you know, if you decide to hit the lounge.

When the gate opens keep an eye on where your target goes. Front of the plane or the back.

3. The EasyJet terminals seem to be out of the main part of the airports so give yourself plenty of walking time from the lounge to the gate.
