Fisto. Don't get an SV (no offense to SV guys out there) and don't get a 250 or any of that bullshit.
Yea, you're just getting the bike to learn on, but if you actually like it you'll ride a lot more and get through that first month or two of shitty riding a lot easier.
You're looking in Vegas? What about these
FZ6R (more upright looking)
http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/mcy/4751207996.html
triumph speed triple (street fighter/classic look)
http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/mcd/4767563046.html
r6 (can't go wrong with an r6)
http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/mcy/4766254120.html
Also, don't be afraid of liter bikes. My first bike was an R1, the only reason I sold it is because it kept overheating riding around town.

^btw Fisto, regardless of what bike your choose you're going to run into a lot of people like thirty-six. Tonsssss of them. All you can do is genuinely say "I appreciate your concern."

It was a joke, amigo. I actually ride a liter bike.
Here's a reason not to get an SV650.
They don't turn too well.
Thanks guys.
Honestly I think I'll get a safer bike and just upgrade.
I have a brains vs balls conflict sometimes and I think I should avoid the temptation to get a very powerful bike at first until my skill level improves.

Prices seemed to have dropped drastically when I looked on CL today. Emech?
At this point I'm just more window shopping but if something really stands out, I may try and pull the trigger. Right now I'm using public transportation

Hey guys, I finally pulled the trigger. I bought a 04 Triumph Bonneville 800 cc.
It's a sweet bike, has low miles and looks great. I got it for 3k.

Congrats on the new bike Fisto!
Now make sure you buy some gear to ride in.

That looks pretty sick. Congrats on the purchase. Was also thinking about getting a bike if my tall ass can find one that fits.
Reporter: What keeps you awake at night?
General James "Mad Dog" Mattis: Nothing, I keep other people awake at night.

Congrats on the new bike, great choice!

Book - Around the World in 80 Girls - The Epic 3 Year Trip of a Backpacking Casanova
My new book Famles - Fables and Fairytales for Men is out now on Amazon.
I agree. Let see some pics of the bike.
How are things going with the bike now that you have gotten some riding in? You riding in Las Vegas? Guess there is no lane splitting there. Would be had not to come to the temptation of filtering through traffic.

I am picking it up tomorrow. Signed up for the Harley Davidson safety course. I'll keep the riding pretty short until I complete that.
I'll get some pics.
I'll get some pics.
Welcome to the club brah
I'm contemplating getting my first bike.
I'm thinking about a used Suzuki Intruder 125, which has a low price here in Brazil, it's potent enough but not too much (I'm very inexperienced) and I can customize it later on - I'm interested in the cafe racer/scrambler style.
What do you guys think?

Choose your next witticism carefully Mr Bond, it may be your last.
its really precious seeing your rodent wheel excuses for brains spin endlessly
I am contemplating getting one of the new Bonnevilles with the 1200cc engine. Practice riding it for awhile and take a few weeks off work and ride from St. Louis to LA in 2018. See the Le Brea Tar Pits and ride along the coast. Then come back across the south west again and head home.
Congrats Fisto ! Let me know if you're ever in SoCal we'll go for a ride and I'll give you a locals ride tour !
Get comfortable on that thing, get the gear, don't be a squid !
Ride as much and as often as possible - right now Vegas isn't too hot to ride in and nights are decent.
Shitty thing is you can't lane split, invest in a good helmet also, don't fuck with those 3/4 or skull caps !
