Or just buy a cheap one way from MNL or Clark to HKG for about 30-50 bucks. This is what I will do once I get there as I'm also going there on a one way ticket on April 6th.

What are you going to show immigration as a return or ongoing if you buy the ticket to HKG while your there? I've only been to Europe a couple times I don't remember having to show anything when I flew there besides my passport

My out going ticket will be from either MNL or Clark to Hkg. They only want to see that you have an outgoing ticket. That's all they care about.

Sounds good I'm assuming your moving on before the 30 day window. I just purchased a nonstop flight from SFO to Manila on April 2nd arriving Friday April 4th. Def gonna need to heavily medicate for this haul. Although, my purchase is currently being verified and I will receive a confirmation within the hour. Whatever that means.

its only 12-14 hrs (plus the day you lose crossing the international dateline). If you get a regular nights sleep in the middle of the flight, it only leaves a few hrs on either side to have a meal, read, etc. Depends if you have a refueling stop.

When I went to the PI the most recent time, I didn't even book a cancelable flight. I just created an itinerary on Expedia or Travelocity, emailed it to myself, and that was sufficient. They wanted to see it at the Phil. Airways desk, but immigration in MNL Airport merely asked me if I had a flight out and I showed them the itinerary on my phone.

I've referral links for most credit cards, PM me for them & thanks if you use them

Yup its 14.5 hours nonstop and your right I'll make it work. I think I may try and set up this Expedia idea. Do you basically just go through all the steps and and not actually purchase? Then email yourself that itinerary?

I've gotten a couple suggestions for hotels from a local woman. She recommended edsa shangrila, manila hotel and solaire. Has anyone stayed at these places? My plan is to get a hotel for the first few days and branch out to rent from there once I get a decent lay of the land.

Unless anyone has suggestions for spots they stayed in Manila. I've seen some in the thread

Just some random notes on airport and Manila- Tune hotels are in or arriving in most Phil's cities, there's 2 in Manila in makati and Ermita ,

I haven't been to the Makati one, but locals say the area is much better, and recommend staying way from the Ermita one if you're Caucasian as touts, beggar children, very hostile glaring trike drivers With their kids living on the trike mean you attract a lot of unwanted attention as you walk to jollibees, I ate the chicken and rice and didn't get sick, the sauces looked disgusting and got a pass,

On the other hand the 88 pound 26 yo spinner artist 7 3o+ years my junior who came over on her own dime having never met me drunk after a party pretty much orgasmed continuously while I ate fingered and finally fucked breaking a dry streak longer than I hope any of you have to go through, didn't mind,

the Remington at 80-100 a night is underclass free but a poor value, the spacious lobby leads to dull small room slightly moldy.

Alli can tell you is the Phil's is horrible horrible. 3rd world shithole so don't come over here whatever you do.

Just grind it out in the exurb cubes of Corporation America.Theres work to be done and fat wives to feed.

I've been staying at the Makati Tune hotel for the past week. I keep telling myself I'm going to go to Davao but I keep getting another date lined up somehow and then extend my hotel stay for another day.

In Manila I've stayed at 3 hotels.

Eurotel: Avoid it like the fucking plague! Worst hotel experience ever for me.

Prince Plaza 2: Right next to greenbelt so its a great location. Its a condo building but some of the rooms are used as a hotel. I would say the hotel is ok but the location is excellent.

Tune Hotel Makati: It is near a red light district so some of the girls may get turned off by that. I would so the location is just ok. But the hotel is clean, the staff have been nice, aircon is good, shower head is big and nice hot showers that I was missing, overall its probably not the best but for around $55 after taxes I'm good with it. I was spending about the same at the shit hole of the Eurotel so I'm just scared of ending up in some shit hole again.

Coffee at Greenbelt
Walk
Sit in the park and chat
Walk
Get a candy from the mini stop
Walk
Get a burger at Mcdonalds
Walk
By this time we are very close to my hotel and I give an excuse why I need to go up to my room.

On showers at tune I think they're all good cool ten inch diameter shower disk makes it feel like you're standing nice downpour warm rain. They did screw up my aircon payment and the first Day my Aircon went out and I thought it was a brown out, what's for a few hours until I realized it had been the 24 hour shut off.

Nice to hear you're having a great time IKE in the Phils! Enjoy it man! Are you going to remain in Manila the entire time or you'll be visiting other cities in the country?
How about you Teddy? When are you heading to Davao?

I'm landing in the land of the free flowing nubile and sweet spinners in about a month and can't freaking wait!!!!

Who will be in Davao in the June time frame on? I am looking at houses right now and its insanely! $400 and up for 3-4 bedroom houses is insane. Looks like a good spot to park myself there for a year or more and invest my savings into my business. Plus the easy girls are not bad either.

I stayed at the Eurhotel in Makati, not a palace and kind of bleak, but breakfast buffet was OK, bangus, eggs, etc. It also had good enough internet connection for Skype video calls.

There's also the "gun mall" just up the street, where you can rent a gun and shoot at a range. A nice date, bring a girl and show mastery of a dangerous weapon, you can embrace her and teach her how to shoot.

Where are you seeing the 3-4 bedroom houses for 400$/month? Very interested in this! Are these houses within the cities or outside in the boonies in the province?

Cheers!

Mildew
No window
No Blankets

How did you deal with this stuff?

Or did you get a room with a window and a blanket that didn't reak of mildew? haha

I was literally waking up in the middle of the night because of the smell.

The breakfast was actually the bright spot and the fact that I liked shopping at waltermart.

Tune is good but makati one is a second rAte location. Aim for greenbelt area as it is much better for dating and day game. Makati tune is surrounded by freelancers. Shoring is possible but may not really be worth the effort in the land of milk and honey.

This is my favorite website for getting a idea of how much the cost of living is in a area.

US Dollars

Rent Per Month [Edit] Avg.
Apartment (1 bedroom) in City Centre
Average 141.69 Range $ 111.86 -178.97
Apartment (1 bedroom) Outside of Centre
Average 89.49 Range $67.11- 134.23
Apartment (3 bedrooms) in City Centre
Average 302.01 Range $268.46 -335.57
Apartment (3 bedrooms) Outside of Centre

You can also search almost anywhere in the world and the exchange rates are always up to date. It also gives me a good idea of how low I can negotiate the rent.

"Rental properties in Davao City, Philippines range in Rental price from 2500 pesos monthly rent to as high as P120k pesos rent. But the average rental house in Davao City, would be around P8k to 15k pesos monthly rent. When renting a property in Davao City, we recommend that the renter checks on the availability of phone, DSL, water, and chooses a good rental location."

If anyone is interested in splitting on a big house, PM me. I already had one person pm last night asking about it. Or I can rent a house and any RVFers visiting in town can crash and pay me like 10-20 bucks a day.

Damn I was paying 18,000.00Php per month for a one room apartment that was no where near as nice in Davao. It included everything tho, power, aircon, internet, cable tv and maids to clean it once a day.

Thanks for the davaoproperties.com link. Been very interesting to see what I could get in Davao instead of here in expensive fort bonifacio. Guess I need to make a trip to Davao and check it out. I would love to get a house and maid.

I am looking at some other websites as well that have the same price ranges. It seems davaoproperties.com have the best ones. More than likely they also have some that are not posted online.

Getting a house with a maid is ideal for me also. Plus I can just hop on a quick flight to Hong Kong for business.
