Great posts.

It is funny, I usually stay in Union Square.

But I have always thought I would like living in North Beach.

Ease of access- Pacific Heights. You can take the 22 bus towards marina/castro. Or the 38 geary towards richmond or union. Everything is 15 mins away by bus or 5 mins by ca. Must do's- Fresca for their ceviche and paella (A+).

Prime/Prime w/lottas tourists and shoppers- Union Square

Ocean and SWPL- Marina ( Highly recommend Pacific Puff creampuff shop. Not for swooping, but pumpkin pie creampuff or amaretto creampuff are the best i have had. Side-note- Tacolicious on Chestnut is rated among the 7x7 best 100 foodie places to go. Loads of hot women here)

SOMA- would avoid. That being said I think SOMA is a misnomer. It should be south of howard. Thats really when it starts going apeshit. North of howard is fairly gentrified. MoMA is south of mission. So are lots of the nice ass hotels that are there.

North-beach- avoid. hipster crowd. slightly grimy. Come here to tosca's for their irish coffee (its an old school place, makes killer irish coffee...but ask them to make it stiff. ladies minimal) Italian food is the bomb here. Lots of hot women walking around near the italian restaurants. I think stinking rose or something like that is here.

WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

Pretty much agree here.

I don't think north beach is that grimey though, believe we're including Russian hill as well which is the difference and maybe why G wanted to live there.

Spot on terms of the "soma" thing, there is a vast difference in small segments over there.

I like grimey.

I mean, I like Hollywood and South Beach.

I really like the street Game activity of North Beach. And The Hustler Club.

edit- Reread my post.It should be South of Market. oops. And cab instead of ca. I haven't ate at Toscas. I was saying Italian Food in N. Beach is bomb.

Overall, I recommend Union Square for a tourist. Long-term living Pacific Heights. These both are high-traffic areas w/easy access to cabs (v. important in staying mobile).

Another possibility is the Marina, but its kind of out there and it tough to catch cabs at night. The same goes for North Beach nightlife.

@G- i understand that. One of my favorite activities w/a lady friend is buying a 6-pack of exotic beer at the cornerspot kitty-corner to the church. Then hiking up to coit tower at night. Light up jays and drink your 6-pack of SF authenticity and smoke w/a view of the bridge and all of financial district. Super-sick. You can sub it out w/ciggarettes.

If you want an exotic lay, walk out towards the parking lot of Coit Tower, and take the stairs down toward embarcadero. There are nooks and crannies and random benches on people's houses. Good place to get exotic head, maybe smash if you are feeling extra frisky.

At the very least, its an interesting walk. Heels not recommended for this walk.

Another note, there this cigar and wine bar in SF w/salsa dancing. Some of my latina dental school classmates (cute too) would go. Dont remember the name offhand.

@ everybody, SF vintersmarket is April 13-14. Its fantastic.

It's appropriately called "cigar bar and grill" in Jackson square.

Oh yes, North Beach, it does have a vintage feel to it. And, of course, strip clubs. And, old school Italian restaurants. "Caffe Sport" has always been my favorite.

G won't consider it "grimey". He would just consider it "big city".

None, door to door ~30 mins by car airport to downtown or areas mentioned here.

You'd be in S San Fran more residential

The airport is not in SF. The airport is it's own city. Just game there. I like the "International Arrivals" area.

I walk around the baggage claim saying.. "welcome to san francisco"

Always a few cute girls at SFO

Yeah, I met a few girls in the smoking areas outside at SFO.

Always a good way to start your trip with momentum.

I have wanted for years to roll to the airport and Game.

If you think about it, it could potentially be the greatest place in the world for Game.

I have a question similar to the Houston->DC thread. From 80k in Phoenix, AZ (Scottsdale) compared to probably around 130k in San Francisco (SOMA neighborhood), how would that compare? I'm early 30s, youngish looking tall white guy from Eastern Europe, last 10 years in the US. I like Asian mixes as well as latinas, especially taller ones (5'8"+). I have a coworker who is making this jump later this month, single, cool guy in his late 30s, he's quite excited about this. His situation is a bit different, he is pretty high up here, I would estimate his jump would be maybe $120k in PHX to $200k in SF. One thing that scares me is logistics - his initial short term rental is $3500 a month for 2 bdr apartment in SOMA and he's also getting rid of his car. I think I would have to go with roommates or something since I would def want to stay under $1500 or so rent wise and also the car situation is a problem. Also the mixed rep SF has here. On the plus side SF seems to have good public transport network so carless lifestyle might be viable. Career-wise (IT of course) it would be definitely a good move.

If you go to SF, don't go for the women. Women in the bay area are b-team compared to other locales.

we might be being a bit harsh on san francisco and northern california overall. have met a few attractive asian women in that area and fine latinas too. it isn't as good as other places but san francisco has its diamonds.

cost of living sucks though, more expensive than nyc.

I have an opportunity to attend the university there for a semester. Should I do it? As opposed to staying in Norways winter?

Is it good for a young guy in uni?

I would do it just for the experience. Compared to Norway the winters will be warm.

I just returned from SF this morning. Had a great time. The food IMO is the best in the world. I was hanging with a rookie crew of friends that I hang out with for reasons totally unrelated to game, but I still managed to hit up a cool venue.

Clift Hotel aka Redwood Room

Went there on Friday night. Opened a set of young 23 y/o American chicks. One had moved to SF from DC a month ago. Conversation was pretty dull and just in the nick of time I spotted an ice cold set of blondes who looked like sisters (and they were). This is an upscale venue and though there were dudes around, I'm guessing they were intimidated by the looks of those blondes. They were also seated on a couch engaged in seemingly deep convo. The two American girls said they needed to hit the restroom and would return. I had no intention on talking to them again. I approached the sisters as they were seated while I was standing up. Built up some rapport and then told them to make room for me on the couch. I had a bottle of Stella in my hand and eventually one of the sisters went up to the bar to get reup on drinks and without asking brought me another Stella. I was impressed.

I exchanged some texts with Menace over the weekend and showed him a pic of me and the chicks. Wish I could share them here because they were dope. One is single and lives in NYC and the other is married and lives in Sydney. The married encouraged me to talk to her sis and also said she has friends in Australia for when I visit there this year. I will keep in touch with both of them.

Had it not been for that retarded 1:30am last call I would have probably closed same night. Just as the night was getting started they kicked us out. I did get a good makeout session though.

I really don't understand why the whole state of California has that early last call policy. There's possibly an argument for Socal given how spread out the cities are there and how you need a car to get around (as well as the riff raff element in places like LA), but I don't get it at all for SF. SF is safe, setup like the East Coast with cabs, trains, etc, and very walkable.

The next night I peeped Harlot in Soma. It was packed and had that Euro trash kind of crowd. Then I went over to John Collins which has been okay during past visits but was a hood ass sausage fest this time around.

All in all, I didn't see many cute girls out at all. I also didn't spot many feminine chicas. This really stood out as I was in DF last week where every girl had on heels and dressed really well.

Anyway, that was about it for my weekend on the game tip. I was mainly in town for a good friend's surprise bday party. I ate some of the best food in my life that weekend.

I want to shout out some restos like Mission Beach Cafe (amazing weekend brunch), Stacks (excellent breakfast), Limon (Peruvian food that's better than the stuff in Peru!), and this cool Jewish deli in the Mission I can't remember the name of.

I also did a ton of exercising because the flight there was like six hours. I ran a few miles, played basketball and did some calisthenics with a friend.

I'd consider living there again if I was going to settle down and not travel so much but I don't foresee that being the case anytime soon. For now I like the logistics I have being on the East Coast. Great for travel.

I think there are always cute girls at airports. I was traveling to Newark and had it not been for the 5:30am flight and my mom traveling with me, I'm convinced I would have closed this adorable music student that was in front of me in the check in line.

Ha. That's what the cabbie told us but luckily the girls in there were normal that night. At least the ones I talked to.
