I didn't read the book yet, but from reading the reviews, I discerned one of the author's principles as, "Be the exception."

There's a lot of wisdom to that. If you do what everyone else is doing, you'll be just as successful as everyone else. Security at the cost of mediocrity.

If you take a look at the stories of the guys on the Forbes 400 list, many made their fortunes on ideas that others thought absurd. Hell, the Google founders tried like hell to sell their company. If IBM or one of the other companies had embraced unconventional thinking and shunned rigid group thinking, Larry and Sergey wouldn't be sitting on billions.

Then again, lots of exceptional, unconventional ideas suck ass and will fail miserably. But persisting in the "ruins" beats following the same old carved out path. Hey, if getting rich was easy, everyone would do it, right?

This ebook is amazing, I finished about half of it in the last two days. He breaks it down by each country in which he created debt markets (Vietnam, El Salvador, Turkey, Russia). He's like everything I want to be: goes to a random obscure 3rd world country and creates markets out of nothing for corporations and governments out of connections he makes out of scratch. Doesn't hurt that he makes hundreds of millions of dollars in the process either.

How old are you in your senior year? 18?

He finished in 58, and then pocketed his first 100k$ in the mid 80s in Salvador, so he was more than 40 y.o.

That gives us young 20s ballers some more room to reach his level.

Canada is blessed with very beautiful girls as there are people from all ove the world living there. Funny you mention Argentina as the only two places I wasn't impressed with the quality of the ladies have been Argentina and the US. But Canada, specially Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Quebec City are off the charts specially Montreal.
