I listen to Mixergy religiously. For anyone who's business or entrepreneurially minded, it's a fantastic resource.

Instapaper has a nice overview of its most popular articles along with editors' picks from different outlets. Before traveling I often go on there and add a bunch of stuff to my read later to read on my phone.

The Economist

Barking up the wrong tree Read this for a while (and go through all the related pages on the bottom of each post, especially on sex related ones) and your mind will be blown, I guarantee you. I think it's actually changed how I see the world, making me look through an objective scientific lens. The knowledge gained allows you to life hack.

However, this is strictly for libertarians and conservatives (unless you're looking for something to disagree with). But if that's your thing, it's some of the best writing out there. The only publication I subscribed to in print.

This is actually a one hour radio program with deep discussion of topical issues. You can download podcast or listening to a stream from the site. It's truly "fair and balanced" and the host always gives fair time to opposing sides and stays neutral. No yelling or screaming will be found here. What Does It Mean?
Yes, I know there are many theories and stories about who Sorcha Faal is. Yes, I know that her reports, which are supposed to be assembled from leaked Russian military intelligence documents, while convincing, have many non proved sides. However, take the time to, at least once a week, scroll down the ‘World News Now’ and the ‘Insight Into Today’s News’ sections. They both contain a selection of the most interesting articles from countless sources.

Even better, they aggregate by author. So if someone did a sweet NYT magazine article, you can find other articles by the same guy. Saves a ton of time and all the content is extremely high quality.

I get most of my news from inbonafide.com and yahoo.com. I mainly get news from yahoo.com because I have a yahoo email. though.

I love New York Times in general, even though some of the gender articles might be feminist-biased (but what media isn't today?) and myopic in the classic sense of not understanding the sexual market, it's still lots and lots of fine writing in general. I particularly enjoy Paul Krugman and Nicolas Kristof (Kristof writes almost exclusively about women's issues, but real women's issues like rape and HIV in Africa, microcredits or education in poor countries and etc. and not the drivel about modern western women).
I used to be a subscriber too for a year before I ran out of money temporarily and had my account suspended, then I discovered a trick to keep reading without being a subscriber anyway

Of the other things that I read daily but am not subscribed to, probably The Economist (also fine writing and little more technical than NYT), Cracked.com (they might have started turning to shit recently, but there's still plenty of good coverage in other fields), Roissy (Heartiste) and Roosh forum ofc. I used to read Yahoo for a while but I've quit recently, I find their quality very sensationalistic and poorly written like most Croatian newspapers and news portals.

After reading this thread, I'll definitely take a look at The Rolling Stone.

A lot of it is programming related, as well as science and startup material, but there's often interesting stuff. Commenters are top notch.

I read a lot of what's already been listed, like Harper's, Atlantic, Slate, New York(fav), Bloomberg. I generally stick to reading hard copies of the Times and Journal when I'm at a Starbucks or 7-11.

I'm in Chicago and like Chicago Crain's Real Estate section particularly.

Some others that haven't been mentioned are a recent discovery called Port Magazine, on fashion and design geared towards men.

I'm not really up on scientific things but at times I'll check out Science Daily.

McSweeney's I like for its interesting and creative articles.

The Browser has a bunch of people (so-called "experts") curating long-form articles from around the Web.

I know this isn't about the entire website, but I just read this incredible article about psychopathy in NYT magazine and wanted to share it but it's not that important to deserve its own thread. The article, about physiological and psychological research into the nature of psychopathy (based on following children dubbed 'Callous-Unemotional Children' from age 3 onwards, and their case studies) is chilling and deeply disturbing. It suggests that up to 80% of psychopathic tendencies might be not only hereditary, but also immutable.

The choices have are usually of a taste for original and insightful thoughts and good writing style. A must.

Doubtlessly the best magazine in the world. Mistaken by the name, many people think that it is an economical magazine, but I'd say economy makes just about 10% of the content. It has a very strict Style Guide, so readers can get some of the finest English in Media, with all the subjects being carefully reflected pondering all the sides. It also covers almost any part of the world. Every year the Christmas Special Edition has some of best articles someone can read. This is exactly what happened to me. Instapundit has been my homepage since either 2000 or 2001. I found out about Roissy through a link on his site and found Roosh through Roissy.

I don't mind Instapundit, but there are way too many updates for me to keep up with it.
