I've spent about 2 days now so far looking for a reasonably priced apartment in d3 that is close to d1 to no avail. Its been quite frustrating as the price and pics don't even match up when I show up to the place. Like there was one apartment in d3 that had a listed price and pic with a balcony then when I showed to view the place, there was no balcony plus they tacked on an extra 200,000k for some BS management, internet, washing machine fee + 100k for water and your electricity. I've seen almost 99% of places usually only charging for electricity which usually runs between 3500 to 4000 dongs a kWh and some places charging you an extra 100k for water. Also the place ended up being further away too by an extra block or two. How much are you guys paying for an apartment? Is a budget around 400-500 USD a reasonable amount? There are plenty of small rooms in d3 for around 7.5-8.5 million dongs but they are only like 20-25 sqm with a tiny ass kitchen. Do your dates mind such a small place? I was hoping to get a place with at least 40 sqm but those seem none existent unless I'm willing to move far away or pay upwards of 600-700USD, even in d3!

I'm currently staying at some rundown old hotel inside of a tiny room directly in front of my relatives house. Bringing girls back is a big no no, as most of the people recognize me now plus I have been flirting with one of the girls at the reception desk. Its saving me a good amount of money because I get free meals from my relatives house plus eating outside is dirt cheap and this hotel is only charging me like $400 CAD but I can't get laid here.
I pay 5 million vnd per month plus 500k for bill, but its way out in phu nhan (this is sharing with two other friends).

If you've got mates you may want to split a flat with them in d3.

Masteri in d2 is only 20 million and that is the elite of Saigon. Essentially for 500usd per month you get a luxury flat with a pool and a gym.

The only reason I don't live there is because of work.

20 million is like around 850usd a month. Are you talking about splitting the place with a roommate or getting a one bedroom?

I can't stand roommates, I had a really bad experience with one who was a total pig. Plus there's a lot of rift raft in vietnam, expats who go and steal your shit, etc.
I prefer the privacy of being a lone even if it cost a bit more.

I found a place yesterday that looked modern but was a little on the small side for around 8.5 million + 300k for bills + electricty cost. So roughly around 9 millionish a month.

However, its right beside a police building according to the building manager. Not sure if its like some high level police official that lives there or not but it was quite a nice building. I'm not sure how eager I am to be living beside a police building, as I suspect the cops may give me trouble when they see me bring home girls. This was one of the reasons why I didn't take it. Also it was a bit far too by the water canals, although there is a supermarket just like a 3 minute walk there along with several cafe's which I suppose would make it a good location logistically. Grab a coffee there there bring them back home, or suggest you could dinner, take them to the supermarket, grab groceries, head back home and voila.

Destiny, have you tried having a local help you find a place? If you're looking at places advertising in English, you won't find the place that you're looking for.

The ones you want, 35-40 sqm with decent kitchens and balconies can be had for 7-9 million per month, but they advertise in Vietnamese, not English.

I have a place like that, only a 5 minute moto ride from dist 1, but I had to learn the language and negotiate in their language in order to get it. Granted, it isn't in d3, it's been getting harder and harder to find a decent place in your price range there as well-moneyed locals have been gentrifying it in the last couple of years.

And no, don't get a roommate. Fuck that.

Yeah I have asked my relatives for help to no avail. I asked one of the girls that I was seeing for help and she gave me some place in pham ngu lao lol. She also gave me a really nice 2 bedroom place for 10 million but again on pham ngu lao. Right now I am using 2 vietnamese only websites to look for the apartment which I assume have local prices. The problem I am encountering is a lot of them lie about the posting and use fake pics or odd angles or tack on extra fees not mentioned. I also joined some housing expat facebook group but the agents tried to rip me off with overpriced shitty apartments. I had one today offer me an average looking small apartment for 10 million that could be had for 6-8 million tops.

I think I may need to bump up my budget to around 11 million [Image: sad.gif]. Of course the more money that I can save, the longer I can stay here in vietnam. Based on my current spending habits, I'm quite frugal and eat locally or at my relatives house, and only really spend a lot of money when on dates. This will allow me to extend my trip for another few months here assuming I don't have any problems with a border run. I assume that is what they call it. I have a 6 month visa exemption which I assume will allow me another 6 months if I just leave the country and get a stamp then re-enter.

If you want to live frugally, don't live in places around district 1 and their price inflation.

The influxes of people moving from other provinces make the traffics in Saigon almost unbearable now, I rage every time I have to go there.
I live in Bien Hoa, btw.

I cant remember if it was covered already in this thread but does anyone have any feedback on Phu Quoc island?

I was in Phu Quoc two years ago, December 2016, for 5 days. I loved it. I went solo after one week of partying in HCMC and it was really good. I stayed in the south of the island, in a very small guesthouse by the beach. I didn't go to parties and I didn't try to game either, I just wanted to go to the beach and relax. I heard the local airport has more flights now from different countries in Asia so chances are Phu Quoc is getting popular and flooded by tourists, I hope not.

Just got back from a 15 day stay.

Nice island, not expensive.

I only half heartedly tried to pickup the Viet girls that are working there.

Quite a few russian girls around.

Wasn't 15 days too long ?
I wonder how worthy the sea is. Can you compared the water /beach quality to anywhere else in the region just to get an idea?
Reply

The lowdown on Ho Chi Minh/Vietnam - datasheet

I'll chime in if that's okay. When I was there most beaches were dirty, lots of trash. Not sure if it was the tide bringing in trash or it was from the island itself. I went to the south east of the island and the two beaches I saw there were very clean though, as in really nice. Think the best beaches in Thailand or in the Phils.
I personally think two weeks in Phu Quoc is a little too long, there are some nice tours to go on but after being on two or three of those that's pretty much it. Some thoughts on the island:
- The internet was generally bad.
- Many Russians, most in couples (I think Russians don't need a visa for Vietnam).
- I heard there're building many hotels and there're direct flights from China, if this is the case then the island will lose its appeal to me.
- Local girls seemeed very conservative but you never know.
- Almost no locals on dating apps, a few Russians but not many.
- It's a nice island but definitely not the place to get notches, at least it wasn't two years ago.

I'm in HCMC/Saigon at the moment, any suggestions regarding nightclubs or bars to pick up chicks? That main strip in D1 has many tourists, it's kinda pricey and some of the bars are hooker central yeah? I was there the other night with a girl and I got that feeling anyway. How's Lush these days? Was there once and had a blast, didn't pick up any chick though

From what I hear PHA Quoc is a couples destination, remote, rural, unspoilt, lots of empty roads for exploring.

The time to go is Now during the dry season (wet season friends say it rains all day every day) .. and maybe Now in general before the Chinese tourism lands.

Thought I'd drop this in here:

https://e.vnexpress.net/news/news/four-k...62707.html

I hear a lot alot of hipsters-away-from-home and long term expats shrugging off road safety here.
'Its fine, you just gotta know how to drive.'

"During the four-day New Year holiday 136 accidents were recorded, in which 111 people died around Vietnam and another 54 were injured, according to the Traffic Police Department.

This was a significant increase in fatalities from last year, when 67 died in three days.

On average, one person dies every hour in road accidents in Vietnam. The country targets reducing road accident deaths to below 20 a day, or 7,300 a year."

"On average, one person dies every hour in road accidents in Vietnam." Rough calculation that's.. 8760.

By contrast the UK had 1792 deaths in 2016 and it made the papers as some kind of scandal..

Guys, you don’t need a visa if you stay 30 days or less in Phu Quoc. There are some really nice resorts there and a Vietnamese girl would love to visit it.

Experience in Saigon/HCMC and Phnom Penh – December 2018/January 2019 (long reading):

I have just spent 8 days in Saigon and 4 days in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I’ll tell you guys about my experience and my impressions next.

About me: I’m in my late thirties, European, English is not my first language, I speak 3/4 languages, I’ve lived in several countries and I currently live in an Asian country, I’m 6 feet and around 210 pounds, I consider myself decent looking and I think my game is intermediate/high intermediate.

This was my third time in Vietnam and my first in Cambodia.

I apologize in advance if my writing is not great, English is not my mother tongue.

Saigon:

Arrival:
I arrived at Saigon airport, bought a sim card with Vinaphone for around 200,000 Vietnamese Dong and took a taxi straight to my hotel, the taxi cost me 200K and it took around 30/40 minutes to get there. It was Saturday night and the traffic was awful (More on this later).

Accommodation:
Before the trip I was unsure if I should stay in a hotel or book an Airbnb, I chose a hotel. Reasons for this choice: I had been in Saigon two times before and the first time, December 2016, after banging a chick at night I saw her looking at my passport and I freaked out, the second time, in Spring 2017, I was walking at night with a friend of mine when two chicks on a motorbike pulled over next to us and one of them, really hot chick, came closer to me and started talking in Vietnamese, I didn’t understand anything but when she started getting far away from me I had a funny feeling and I looked at her hand and she had my mobile phone in her hand!! After these two incidents I decided a hotel would be better because of the hotel cameras and because of the chicks need to register at the hotel.
There’re many pickpockets in Saigon and some are chicks, be careful guys.

I chose a hotel in D1, I really liked it, I paid 400k per day, the room had a big bed, AC, bathroom with shower, TV, small fridge. The location was fantastic. Right in the heart of D1 but the room was quiet enough. Right next to then hotel there were many stores, convenience stores, restaurants, a travel agency where I bought my bus ticket to Phnom Penh, bars, taxis driving by etc.

I brought 7 girls to the hotel, I never had a problem. There were two receptionists, one seemed to be a girl who was always there and they just asked the girls to register. When I checked out I gave her some chocolates and some cash to this girl and I asked her not to reveal my identity if anyone came looking for me, will explain about this later.

I can PM the name of the hotel.

Girls:
Before I go into details, let me explain one thing. The first time I went to Vietnam I got 5 notches in 2 weeks (3 in Saigon and 2 in Nha Trang), the second time I went to Vietnam I got 0 notches in 4 days. I wasn’t satisfied with my results so I decided to make sure this time I was going to get the results I wanted.
I started pipelining 3 or 4 weeks before the trip. I told the girls I was moving to Saigon and I was going to live and work there. I know this is morally wrong and some of you will say this is not “game” but I wanted plenty of p during this trip. I met all my 7 notches on the internet and they all thought I was moving to Saigon.

Girl #1: 27yo, this is one of the hottest girls I’ve banged recently. An 8 or 9 in looks and I’m usually very critical and realistic with my chicks (I normally get chicks that range between a 4 and a 6). As I landed in Saigon I text her and told her to go meet me in my hotel. I arrived in my hotel and 15 minutes later she was in the reception, I went down to meet her and BOOM!! She was even hotter than in pictures and video call. Tall, long legs, very long hair, amazing boobs. I fucked her twice and passed out from exhaustion (The night before I had a good session with another girl in the city I live in). She left in the morning and after a couple of days she asked for money and presents to meet again, I told her I don’t do that and I blocked her. Next.

Girl #2: 36yo. 6/10. Amazing boobs. As girl #1 left, I took a shower, ate something and I text this other girl, she came over and I fucked her three times. After banging we went outside to eat some breakfast and when we want back she demanded I bought her a motorbike “If I was going to be her boyfriend” LOL. I kicked her out and blocked her on WhatsApp.
She went nuts and she threatened me with bringing some guys she knew to my hotel and beat me up haha, I thought she was just butt-hurt but I kept an eye out from them on.

Girl #3: 33yo. 6/10. After #2 left I took a lil rest and meet this other one. Very cute but a little short. Fucked her only once and went out to a bar and had some beers with her friend and the friend’s husband. After a while I said I was tired and went back to my hotel.

Girl #4: 26yo. 6.5/10. I met this girl three times, very good in bed, fucked her in the ass too. She was good fun to be with and I went to some places with her. After the second meeting she started going on about how she was a student and she needed money and a lot of bullshit. I played along and promised her I would give her money. I blocked her when I left Saigon and went to Phnom Penh.

Girl #5: 36yo. 6/10. Milfy with amazing boobs. Fucked twice. Afterwards went to a restaurant with her and she wouldn’t stop talking. Annoying.

Girl #6: 22yo. 5/10. Very cute face but just okay body. Fucked her once and went for coffee afterwards. She shit-tested me several times (Many other girls did, too), asked many details as why I was in Saigon and my business etc (Many other girls did this too, usually when I started talking to them on the internet). Didn't feel very comfortable with her and I deleted her on FB.

Girl #7: 35yo. 4/10. The ugliest of them all. The face was kinda cute but not the body. Huge partum c-scar. Big turn off. Fucked her once only. Could hardly get it up after seeing the nasty scar. Not very proud of banging her.

I have pictures of them all, I can send pics to reputable forum members. There’s a highly repped member on the forum who has seen pictures of them all and has also seen screenshots of the convos.

To sum it up, I love Viet girls. I love their faces and massive boobs (most of them). They can be very sweet BUT and this is a big but: They can be very cunning and sly, they remind me of Eastern Europeans, especially Hungarians, Ukrainians and Russians. I think most of them prioritize future stability, financial support and material possessions over love and feelings. I could be wrong, I’m no expert, but that’s my feeling after three (short) visits to Vietnam.

Weather:
Between 25 and 35 degrees Celsius every day, sometimes it could be pretty humid, nothing crazy if you’re used to SEA. It rained almost every day between 2pm and 5pm more or less, after the rain the weather was really nice and refreshing.

Traffic and pollution:
It was horrible, there’s no other way to put it. I spent most of my time in D1, yes, I ventured to other districts in town and the traffic was slightly better but in the city center the traffic was horrible and the pollution was really bad too. After one or two days in Saigon my nose was blocked and every time I cleared my throat this nasty green stuff would come out. The traffic was comparable to Manila, Bangkok and perhaps even Jakarta. Fucking horrible. Some girls told me it was because it was Christmas and many people were coming to the city center and also because of the rain.
A good thing it’s they’re building a subway in Saigon, I saw the construction going on, I have no idea when it’ll be finished but a city like Saigon (13M people, 15M people?) really needs a subway. I hope so because I love Saigon and I’m coming back.

Eating:
As I said, the strategic location of the hotel made it very easy to find places to eat in.
I can mention a few places that I enjoyed:

- Italiani's Homemade Pizza, 290 Ly Tu Trong street in D1. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in my life. Honestly and I love pizza. Wooden oven and real and plenty of mozzarella cheese. If you live in the West I guess it won’t matter to you but if you live in Asia having a good pizza every now and then it’s a big thing, at least for me. Where I live in Asia I rarely have a decent pizza.

- Taka Plaza in D1: Kind of like a mall, need to go downstairs and there’re dozens of small restaurants, mostly Vietnamese, but Indian, Italian and Chinese too. Went there 2 times. I liked it a lot. Very affordable.

- Once I went for lunch to that restaurant on the 50th floor of that skyscraper. I forgot the name. That was my only expensive meal. I paid the equivalent of 50 euros/55 USD for a really nice meal for two people and the views were really nice.

Bars:
I went to the strip in D1, Bue Vien? Is that the name? For those that haven’t been there: it’s a very long street filled with bars, some of them have small dance floors. I was once there before and it’s not really my thing: very crowded, noisy, music very loud, overpriced and hookers everywhere. It’s fun for a while but not sure if one can pick up for free, maybe shoring.

I went to this bar/restaurant with a big terrace, I don’t remember the name. It was all decorated with Christmas stuff and it was very big, I liked that place. It was overpriced, I ordered six beers and I think I paid 500k or 600k, I forgot, I was with a group of people. I had one of those balloons, a huge one, for 100k. Expensive, I know, but I had a very good time.

I went to some other bars but I don’t remember the names, sorry about that.

Other things:
I went to Ban Than market, bought some coffee and a couple of souvenirs for family. I had been there before but I like the place, for newbies: clothing, watches and sunglasses all fakes. Need to haggle big time.

I also went to the War Remnants Museum: If you love history, this place is for you. This was the second time I went to this museum and I could spend hours there. The room with the agent orange stuff is very sad and moving.

After 8 days in Saigon I was sexually satisfied and I was kinda tired of the city. Time to move on and go to Cambodia.

Phnom Penh:

I bought my bus ticket in a travel agency near my hotel in Saigon. I paid around 200K VND. I traveled with Sorya bus. The bus was old but had a toilet and AC. The Wifi wasn’t working. I was told the journey would take around six hours but it took +8 hours.
Had to get the off the bus at the Vietnamese border, got my exit stamp on my passport, went to the Cambodian border, had already paid 35USD to the guy on the bus, got my passport stamped by the Cambodian officials, got on the bus again on the Cambodian side and continued to Phnom Penh.

Accommodation in PP:
I stayed 4 nights in PP, I stayed in a guest house very near the river and there were plenty of stores, bars and restaurants within one minute walking distance. I paid 60 USD for four nights. I had booked a double room (I always do even if I travel solo) but when I checked in they told me my room was taken by someone else and they only had rooms without windows. Two days later they gave me my actual room. I got screwed over, I know. In return they let me check out on my last day at 5pm.
The room I was given had a big bed, bathroom with shower, AC and a small fridge. Nothing special but it did the job.

Girls
I didn’t pipeline at all and I wasn’t really expecting much, after Saigon I wasn’t in much need. I opened Tinder and Badoo and started talking to some chicks. I then got their contact details and took it from there. I managed to get two notches.

Girl #1: 34yo. 5/10. I spoke with this girl for like two days. She asked me what I was doing in PP and I told her I had just moved there to live and work, she seemed to believe me. I told her we should meet and after some convincing she came to my hotel. Fucked once and afterwards she said she had to go home and go to sleep early because of work.

Girl #2: 25yo. 3/10. The body of this girl was just okay but her haircut was kind of weird and she was annoying, too. I told her I was in PP on holidays and I was leaving soon, she was fine with that. Came to my hotel and fucked, we got some food afterwards and went our ways.

Eating:
I had some nice Indian meals here, price ranged from 6 to 8 USD. In the city center there were several Indian restaurants, easy to find. I also had some Cambo food, I thought it was just okay, nothing special. I wanted to try the magic pizza but never did because I was alone and getting high alone it’s no fun.

Bars:
I only went out on New Year’s Eve. I had a few beers with a Canadian guy who was also staying in the guesthouse, after midnight he went to sleep and I went out by myself. I found this bar, Secrets was the name, I liked it a lot. Good bar. Many girls in red uniform there, working at the bar, I don’t know if they were hookers or only worked there. They were all the time asking me if I wanted more drinks.
Here I met a very friendly American guy who I talked to for a long time, he bought me many drinks and after I while we left and went to Pontoon, a cool night club with three separate rooms. We got in for free because of the US guy who seemed to know everyone. I talked to a mediocre looking girl for a while and then I met a very hot chick, danced with her for a while and grinded with her. We bounced back to my place, she took a shower and came out naked, then she demanded money for sex and I refused, she got really mad and I kicked her out.

Other things:
I’m a huge history fan and the actual reason why I went to PP was to see as many things as possible related to the Khmer Rouge.
I went to see The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum or Security Prison 21 in the city center, I paid 8USD for the audio tour and I really enjoyed it (very sad, though). Afterwards I went to see the Cheung Ek Killing Fields right outside PP, took a tuc tuc to get there and I think I paid something like 5 bucks but I can’t remember. Again, if you like history this place is a must to understand what happened here in the 70’s.

I liked Phnom Penh, before going there I wasn’t expecting much but the city was fine. A lot of construction and new buildings there, the Chinese seem to be investing lots there. I wouldn’t mind going there again but there’re other places I’m going to in the near future.

If you guys have any questions, just let me know.

Nice report, Polero. I don’t agree with telling girls you’ll move to Saigon when you don’t intend to, but I won’t pile the morality shit on any further from here.

Curious how a lot of these girls asked you for money and stuff after banging. Why do you think that is the case? This never happened to me in Saigon unlike Manila and BKK (however some Viets did ask me for $ *before* meeting up or banging and I said no)

@CleanSlate, you're right, I agree, it's not right to create illusions in the girls' minds. The thing is that none of them asked for anything before meeting so that kind of me pissed me off. I think the chick that demanded a motorbike, mind you, when I asked her how much a motorbike was in Saigon she answered 2,500USD, she must've thought I was a loser and I'd buy her one. Girl #1 must've had her reasons to ask for money to meet again, I can only speculate, was she a pro? semi-pro? she thought I'd just pay? she thought I was hooked? I have no idea but in my mind if a girl asks me for money she's a whore. I definitely think that girl #4 thought I was hooked and she could get away with it.

@Spaniard Yeah, very bad. Similar to Manila levels but then you need to factor in the literally millions of bikes in Saigon. Again, this was just in D1.

Nice report Polero. Did all the Vietnamese girls go straight to your hotel?

Straight to the condo worked well for me with Vietnamese. It's still not invaded by foreigners like Manila so it's also the best Philippines alternative for old dudes.

@Facesitting++ Straight to the hotel yeah. With most of them I had been talking for weeks, I guess that made it easier.
There were lots of foreign dudes, believe me. Many I guess were just traveling but I even saw a young foreign dude working in Vincom, the mall. I'm sure there're many Westerners living there, attracted by the hot chicks, the crazy nightlife, low prices and the appeal of Vietnam. I really like Vietnam, it's a country I'd consider moving to in the future. The traffic and pollution of Saigon puts me off, though. I have no idea how much money I could make over there and at this point in my life making good money matters.

I forgot to say that I met two chicks who wouldn't come straight to my hotel, met in cafes instead. These two chicks I didn't pipeline and I didn't get the bang.

Yeah there are a lot of foreigners but most are probably just doing tourism. While in Manila you can be certain that most dudes you see lurking around Makati are here for girls. The normal people go straight to the islands.

Where are you guys going to meet higher quality girls? I've been disappointed in the lack of quality with the girls that I meet and go out with and would like to have access to better quality girls that I only really see the local guys with. I'm not even talking about the models and actresses but the cute 7's and 8's you see out eating on the streets with their vietnamese bf's. So far most of the 7's and up that I meet online like 90% of them are hookers and scammers asking for money and the rest that aren't, after getting the number online don't even give me the time of the day afterwards. In person I get a lot of looks from 7's and ups but online nothing.

I'm gonna start doing some daygame from now on and put online game on low priority. Perhaps playing the lost tourist card may work.

To be brutally honest daygaming in Asia is different than say Eastern Europe or Korea where 90% of women outside look bangable. In the rest of Asia it's the land of pancake butts, teacup breasts and androgynous faces unless you're talking to a bar prostitute. A bit of a hyperbole but it's what I see everyday in places like Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Pretty much the only time I see beautiful women in public is they're working at hairdresser shops or working retail in upscale shopping. The latter is probably whom you want to talk to and pretend to be a customer and cold ask for her number or give her your number. The retail women in dead shops are the easiest to game because they're likely bored all the time.
