Just another shining example of a company out of touch with its audience. In just one week it managed to amass 10 million+ dislikes and dominate the previous champ Baby by Mr. Bieber which as far as I know has been the most disliked YouTube video for years!!








The previous prince of being the most disliked video on the YouTube.... his long reign finally ended by YouTube themselves!! How ludacris!

Some of the superb and outstanding YouTube videos that the 2018 rewind managed to at minimum double the amount of dislikes in under a week:

4 million dislikes





3.5 million dislikes





3.9 million dislikes





1.7 million dislikes

The view counts on those hated videos are astounding. 2 billion for the Beib, 2 billion for baby shark remix, 225 million for the bro song.

The Beib may have had the previous high with 9 million dislikes, but he had 10 million likes, so he was running 45% or so. This rewind video has under 3 million likes, so it's running 75% disliked.

I watched 30 seconds or so with the sound off. It looks stupid as hell and I was thankful I didn't hear any of it.

Don't forget Despacito, which is likely to be the most liked video. Almost 5.8 billion views now and it's about to pass 6 billion views soon.

Personally, I've found that people hate hearing Despacito these days due to excessively repetitive radio play. Whenever I play it now, I see .

Truth. I noticed this literally the year I hit a certain age: all of a sudden the bullshit, the bright lights, the cool memes - they all just ... lost their colour. Looked cardboard. Just watch the pewdiepie's review of it instead. You know, the most popular and subscribed channel of all time on Youtube... which is not on the last two rewinds of Youtube

It's easy to understand why the video is hated. SJW aside, people sitting around the campfire congratulating themselves as if they're curing cancer is a bad look. It's pretentious and conceited. Same reason why the soapboxing at the oscars and the like are so cringey.

If you want to do good in this world, just do it and don't brag about it.

The video was innocuous and was fine up until around the middle when they all started jerking themselves about their "struggles".
Beyond that, who cares?

The dislikes look like Pewdiepie just amassed his army of followers to dislike the video.

If I was Pewdiepie, I would have my followers go to every youtuber who was featured in that video and mass dislike all of their videos just for the Lolz.

He should also have his army go and troll the indian music video channel that was dethroning him in subscriptions. A mass dislike campaign would muck up the algorithms.

It used to be that these things were about the events that happened during the year, coupled with youtube videos and personalities. This one has nothing to do with any of that.

There was a lot of content that was completely left out in favour of getting as many YT stars as possible on this video, even though I personally couldn't name more than 2 of them.
