What if you just happened to have around 20k USD to spend to upgrade your lifestyle and you are in SE Asia. I'm situated in the Philippines.

I want to turn this 20k into a short term investment get max VALUE.

Obvious things are a personal trainer, nice apartment, nice clothes, or a car.

Well, let's jut pretend that you just had 10k or 20k or even 100k to spend I don't want to put any limits. What would you do to upgrade your life and how?

What about your dating life?

And let's just say, what if you had a million to spend in a year.

If I had that money I would buy a first class ticket and get as far away from the Philippines as possible.

That would be my upgrade

I am sometimes wondering if I'm the only guy here who isn't on a tight budget.

Actually, I'm heading for the beach this week. It could be worse [Image: smile.gif]

I see virtual assistants on upwork in the philippines all the time, find one locally to work for you full time (this will be tough screening but you'll find someone). You can have them take care of all the BS you don't want to including running your online dating.

20K is nothing man.

Relax and either invest it or save it for a rainy day.

If you have 100k then you should start thinking about upgrading your lifestyle.

Edit: 20k is nothing with his goal in mind (obviously it is a large sum for anyone with debt or having a rough time) but in terms of life changing money, no. Not when you can spend it in 10 minutes at the nearest Gucci store.

I think in the context of being in the Philippines and with the USD$20k being strictly disposable income that resets per arbitrary time period, it would offer quite a bit of flexibility to do whatever the f he wants. And really, that's all it'll offer him, that flexibility.

Infact, that's the answer... flexibility to not worry about being a cheapskate all the time. It's a great feeling and adds to ZFG vibe when other people are stressing and worrying.

Agreed.

Bump up your monthly budget so that you can have some fun.

But be wise. Money burns. I can't say that enough.

Alright. Forget about material possessions.

This is what I do if I could randomly throw some money around without having to worry about investments or future money making schemes.

1) Pay for an expensive gym and a good trainer. Become an athlete. Or as close to one as possible.

2) Buy a pair of new handmade shoes. These will last a lifetime.

3) Travel (cheaply) to a bunch of different countries.

4) Hire a PUA coach for one on one session. Master pickup.

5) Hire a "media trainer". Learn how to talk and act like a politician or a television presenter.

6) Hire a psychologist and get rid of as many mental weaknesses as possible.

I buy a bar and be a bar owner in middle of my city. My apartment would be right on top of the bar. One staircase away.

Only three ways to do something: "The right way. The wrong way. Or my way. Obviously my way is best."

Ball out in the Philippines and get those HIGH QUALITY Pinays. Wahoooo!

Buy plane tickets for all the hot Pinays abroad and FLY THEM BACK home.

Some might sleep with you.

I agree with RedBaron, 20k is nothing. If you told us you were making 20k/month that would've been a different story.

Put it in a high interest savings account and don't touch it.

Hi!

That's why I gave different thresholds, 10k, 20k 100k or even a million. I don't want to put any limitations on our dreams or ideas in this scenario.

You're scenario is assuming a 20k nondisposable income. I want you to pretend like you don't need the 20k, that it's totally disposable.

Cheers!

Hey Freebird, you should check out this thread from over in the game forum:

thread-70963.html

It got a lot of attention --- and is basically the USA version of what you are asking (90% of the suggestions are non-USA specific and could apply to the Phils).

To put in my 2 cents, my view on money is thus:

- Think in terms of orders of magnitude (speaking in terms of a USA perspective)
- Usual salary is 5 - 10K per month.
- Next order of magnitude is 10X greater, AKA 50K - 100K per month
- After that, 500K - 1M per month

At each order of magnitude, new lifestyle possibilities open up to you. However, in the "in-betweens", it's best just to save the excess rather than trying to attain elements of the lifestyle of the level above.

For example, take 20K. That's 2-4x the usual person's salary. In that case, whatever I was spending as a normal person (in my case about 3K per month), I'd double that. So now I have a 6K budget for my daily life spending. Basically do what you usually do, but for various small stuff, just don't sweat it.

For example: Order an entire bottle of wine on a date instead of glasses (== girl is more likely to be tipsy). Randomly pay for your entire friend groups dinner one night, just for fun. Sign up for the closest, best gym, rather than one that's a good deal but makes you sit in traffic for 30 minutes each way. Again, all small stuff, but when added up might double your monthly spend from 3K to 6K (letting you still save 14K per month).

However ... At 50K - 100K per month, I think there is a major shift (10x usual salary). At that level, I'd recommend establishing yourself in your city as a baller.

Things like:

- Renting an ostentatious penthouse (most expensive unit in the most famous building in the city)
- Buying a supercar to drive around
- Hosting nightlife events / parties
- Starting a business getting you in contact w/ attractive women (modeling agency, bar, club, events company like above, charity that throws fundraising events)
- Hiring live-in staff to take care of your lifestyle overhead
- Systematically & proactively reach out to other famous and wealthy people in your city to establish an elite friend group

Next starting at 500K - 1M per month (and going as high as 5M - 10M per month), take some pages out of the infamous Jho Low's playbook (main guy in 1MDB scandal, who funded the Wolf of Wall Street movie and integrated into Hollywood social circles):

https://nypost.com/2018/09/15/i-own-you-...ower-play/

https://www.amazon.com/Billion-Dollar-Wh...031643650X

- Give famous people (+100K to +1M) gifts to gain favor with them
- Buy your way into the most exclusive and high end events
- Buy a yacht and host parties, invite IG models to travel w/ you on it
- Buy a private jet and invite IG models to travel with you
- Buy multiple citizenships
- Take up rich persons hobbies for networking
- Get buildings named after you (imagine day gaming at a college campus at your own building [Image: lol.gif])
- Hire the best people as your personal assistants (think 200-500K annual salary for someone incredibly top notch at their field)
- At this level and above, your creativity is almost the only limit, so i am leaving out a ton of other stuff...

Not sure how well you know the Phils, but I'm wondering how this question might be colored by your experience over there.

You should realize that with any cash infusion you run the risk of being Mr. Provider or the walking ATM even more than you may already appear to be. This is especially true there versus other SE locales, from everything I've heard (have not made it to the Phils yet, but been almost everywhere else in SEA).

What's your goal/big picture? Why are you thinking of notional cash right now?

HI!

Nice questions. You made me think.

I'm focusing on work, fitness and health primarily at the moment. I already have a hot g.f. I'm trying to cut my body fat the next few months.

I haven't had much time to game lately but I want to start gaming again outside of the city area in Manila. I'd like to somehow set up a way to have girls come into see me from around the provincial areas that I meet day gaming, in one central area to make it efficient. Perhaps I could send a driver out to pick the girls up or have them bus into visit me once a week or something like that. This is my possible idea on how to have a g.f. and then not get caught cheating, but have access to multiple girls. But sometimes I wonder if it's worth the time and effort.

I would like to get a good social circle around here, join some clubs such as Makati Sports or the Golf Club, and get access to some more interesting and successful types of people, as I currently work online mostly and I'm usually pretty isolated.

I sometimes wonder what I would do if I had more money, and when I had extra cash in the past, I felt like I really didn't capitalize on the opportunity in an effective way. I want to leverage my advantages as much as possible.

I totally agree about not advertising about having money here in the Philippines. Although I loved the idea about buying a Penthouse in Columbia, so I'm not totally opposed if done in a good way.
