A few people here recommended a British show about a counter-terrorism team called "Strike Back." Season one was outstanding. Aside from Section 20 being run (administratively) by a female colonel, there was very little SJW BS. I liked the way that they treated warfare realistically, e.g., pumping a few extra slugs into the terrorists after they were down, just to be sure. The show's musical theme is also great ("Short Change Hero").

Then for season two, it seems as if the writers considered the show so successful that they could now muck it up with SJW crap. The new head of Section 20 is also female, but she is a former special forces spook that now partakes in missions. A new member of the squad is now a female. A CIA agent is now a female. A Mossad agent is now a female. One of the bad guys (a long-range sniper) is also a female. This female sniper gets a new sniper rifle, holds it up for the first time, and instead of placing the butt of the rifle against her shoulder she comically holds the butt above her shoulder. I would pay money to see her fire a high-powered rifle from that position. It sucks to see a good show deteriorate so quickly.

Season two is still worth watching, but the show is certainly headed in the wrong direction in terms of the realism of its characters.

You still have 3 other seasons to watch, the fun is to watch the 2 militaries getting orders but applying them their own way.

It's just a little painful moment to go through and if, like me, you like "realistic" army shows you won't get nothing better.

Plz enjoy

Tell them too much, they wouldn't understand; tell them what they know, they would yawn.
They have to move up by responding to challenges, not too easy not too hard, until they paused at what they always think is the end of the road for all time instead of a momentary break in an endless upward spiral

There is also a clone of "Strike Back" called "The Brave", not bad for action adventure. The one thing that strikes me is that in both shows they go into civilian environments and shoot almost everyone they encounter. I wonder if it is intended to help desensitize people to military actions in their cities.

Omega Level Mutant Legion becomes ever more aware of his powers and his madness. Should have come in handy during the Infinity War - he could have crushed Thanos.

Legion can be a really great show when it wants to be. I recently finished season 2 not too long ago. I enjoyed it when it a cohesive narrative, but holy shit when this show drags it fucking drags. I still prefer season 1 just because it was so unexpected and a welcome departure from the usual MCU stuff that's out there.

I'm really curious to see what's gonna be in season 3.

I am betting David will be officially evil for the first half or so, while at the same time they will prepare a new villain.

I was reading some theories about the whole thing, and I noticed I missed some things going on in the last episode. I think Farouk planted delusions in everyone at D3 to turn on David. In the episode itself, it leaves a lot of clues pointing to everyone turning on David at the end of the season. There's the story of the 9 wise men, believing they're correct, who hang the 1 wise man who's actually right but disagrees with them. Or that whole analogy with the bruised apples.

I think David is the only person powerful enough to stop Farouk. Knowing this, he slowly manipulated everyone into thinking David is the real villain. He then presented the idea that only he was the one who could stop David. So even though it looks like the roles reversed, I think David is still the hero and Farouk is the actual villain.

Haven't been watching much tv recently until i installed netflix on my phone. I have 2 one hour commutes a day so stayed burning through some series:

Fauda based on the recommendations here I liked both seasons and still keep watching. Good action, little PC.

Station Berlin, started watching this cause I work in Berlin. I find it quite good, similar to homeland.

Safe has Dexter as main character so thought I'd give it a go but it is probably more in drama/mystery category if you are into that.

I don't watch much television, but the HBO series, The Leftovers, is the best series I've watched in three years. Season Two is especially good, but Season One was difficult for many people to understand and get used to.

If you decide to watch it, two rules apply: (1) Don't binge watch. The show's effectiveness drops by at least a factor of ten if you just roll all of the episodes together. (2) Even if you hate Season One, get up to the episode entitled "Guest". If you're not especially moved by the fate of the title character in this episode, then you'll never be moved by anything in the show, in which case you should stop watching.

I definitely would not say that "The Leftovers" is the best series I've watched in three years, but I do agree with the rest of the review. Season one was just OK, so I reluctantly decided to watch season two. "The Leftovers" is one of the few shows where the second season is vastly superior to the first season. First, because it loses the teen-aspect story from season one, which distracted greatly from the show and seemed geared towards pulling in a younger audience. Second, and even more important, the second season's episodes focused on pushing the story along by focusng on just one character per episode, which is far more effective than bouncing around from character-to-character (like a typical TV show). As a result, there were some very powerful episodes. I especially liked the one that focused on the church pastor ("No Room At The Inn").

Any project in which Ridley Scott is involved is guaranteed to be high quality.

This was true until Alien:Covenant. Scott just lost his marbles on that one.

I will give Taboo a try though.

It's still extremely well done - just stupid as fuck in terms of story and content.

People have to realize that directors are not necessarily good producers/writers/idea men. Give him a good script and guidelines and he will make a fantastic movie.

It's a series that is more art than reality. Some episodes are crud while others are genius:

Season 2 Episode 6 for example is good with the Multiverse angle.

They have some increased girl-power in it, but it is bearable. Plus - the entire character is bizarre, since he is pretty much one of the most powerful in the MCU.

I feel that the show would have been even better if they went less feminism/social justice with it. But in our times that is about as good as it can get.

Farouk is amazing villain and has real swag. Unlike black and white one dimensional villain characters some TV shows like to portray.

Controversial choice here, but I recently finished up the four seasons of UnReal and it was by turns funny, horrifying, depressing, and insightful. It got weak in the last season and in particular the last half of the last season, but if you want a look at what narcissism looks like, watch a couple of episodes of this shit and see if you like it. Was created by a very ugly writer and a former reality TV producer; the central premise of the show is that it's about the people who make a reality TV dating show like The Bachelor, but there are some deeply fucked-up people all through the thing. Not terribly uplifting, but it's nice to watch an unintentional (or perhaps intentional) meditational metaphor on the downfall of the West. It also goes about as far as a Western womens' show will go on saying that women wanting the go-grrrrl feminist dream are either manipulated or deluded.

Glad you guys brought up 'The Leftovers." I am up to episode 6 of the first season and it is growing on me.

Anyone watching the "I am a Killer" documentary? Really addictive although it has an anti death penalty message in every episode.

I went through another highly recommend able series on Netfix this week especially for those that like international ones. The show in English is called Sacred Games and it's about a Mumbai criminal lord. The first episode was a but slow but afterwards the show picked up intensity fast.
