Buy eBooks from authors you support (like Roosh, Matt Forney, etc).

Buy everything else from Wal-Mart or eBay.

Starve them of your $$$.

Just my 2 cents.

This fucking propaganda grates me so much. This exact type of advertising has been done in India for a very long time, especially by the big multinational companies such as UniLever, except it is a Hindu and a Muslim, not a Christian and a Muslim.

This is the first time I have seen it in the States. If there ever was a reason to boycott Amazon, this is it.

Great stuff guys. Created a KingsWiki page and compiled all the advice on this thread onto it (as well as that for other corporations etc):

Feel free to add to the list if there are any other examples of Amazon douchebaggery or any other corporations we should avoid.

Amazon to become more expensive as state governments crack down on sales tax.

Quote:Quote:

Online retail giant Amazon to charge sales tax in Louisiana

Online retailer giant Amazon will begin charging sales tax Jan. 1 on sales in Louisiana, the company announced Monday morning.

An Amazon spokesperson told WDSU in a brief statement that "Amazon will begin collecting sales tax in Louisiana on January 1, 2017," adding to the growing list of states in which orders placed on amazon.com will include a sales tax.

Amazon was responsible for 30 percent of the cyber weekend revenue this year, according to a report from Fortune. The online retailer dominates the arena.

Amazon might not remain an online-only experience. The company is testing its first Amazon Go store in Seattle, a grocery store model in which shoppers scan their Amazon app as they enter.

When I cancelled my Prime the next year was going to be $108. Prime + sales tax.

Nice to have that 108 dollars still in my pockets.

I'm bumping this thread to continue my reign of love for Swanson Vitamins.

Supplements - Swanson Vitamins. Zelcorpion got me turned onto Swanson because they're a medium sized, family run business that sells vitamins at orthomolecular doses and does not produce products with artificial sweeteners. Not only do they sell their name brand products, but they sell NOW, Jarrow, Source Naturals, and all kinds of other brands. The price listed is generally higher than Amazon, but they ALWAYS send me coupons via email. Every other day it's 20% this, free shipping that, so it's very easy to make large discounted orders that are on par if not cheaper than Amazon.

I've learned that they sell many of the niche hippie products I would previously buy from Amazon, including:

-Fluoride-Free Toothpaste

-Incense for sex

-Nubian Heritage Black Soap - recommended by GLL, this is the shit for skincare. Swanson carries the bar and the liquid, which I use for travel.

-Hyaluronic Acid, great for the preventing face wrinkles

-Curry powder - I buy by the pound for chili

-Barlean's Greens

-Wild Planet Sardines in Marinara - a daily staple of mine. At $2.79 a tin these are still beat out by the Amazon 12 pack ($2.08/tin), but that's only 25% off. With the right Swanson coupon you can match or beat this price.

-ACV - They carry 32 oz of Bragg's for $5.54 and their own brand for $4.99. Most of my grocery stores sell it for $5.99, which isn't much, but I'm a cheap bastard. I also use ACV when I have to tip the scale to get free shipping or additional savings. You can always have more, this stuff never goes bad.

-Coconut Oil - their own brand rivals Costco prices and is EXTRA virgin, while Costco's is only virgin.

And it's great for daygame.

Best place to meet smart frugal bitches.

The giant carts slow them down, and the giant aisles provide a quiet place to chat.

Books - Better World Books. You should be buying used books already, because of the price difference, but Better World takes it to a different level by being extremely environmentally and socially responsible while still holding onto low prices and great customer service.

Why the hell should I buy books at all? I'm going to be getting rid of a lot of them because they are a pain in the ass to move and to have. They take up way too much space.

Any suggestion for those who have moved into the 21st Century way to read? It's a whole lot easier just to have all this stuff on my computer.

One book weighs more than my smartphone.

I just read them on my phone now. Although it's complete fucking WHORESHIT that e-books are even more expensive than paper books. I mean what in the holy fuck? They have to print a book and then ship it. But I buy some pixels via the internet and that shit costs $15 for a novel? Goddamn.

The best reason to cancel Amazon Prime: you don't need all that shit. Really. The vast majority of it is a distraction from your purpose.

At the end of the day almost every large corporation in the world will do something or other that you or I disagree with, depending on how deep you want to dig to find out. If we were to boycott every large corporation that did something we did not like then we would have to be hippies living on a self-sustaining off the grid farm.

Yeah I'm severing ties as well. Just got an email last week that states the price for prime is going up to $119 starting in June. Nothing political about my reasons either, because if we really want to break it down, the usury on every single federal reserve note, or virtual equivalent, makes it way back to some slimy motherfuckers. But I digress. It's more practical. Weird how humans will spend money on something they don't need, or for more quantity of an inferior product, while under the impression they're getting a "deal," rather than save said money for something more pertinent or of having more quality.

Plus this. I'm realizing how it's mostly spending money on shit I don't really need but the appeal of the convenience and value was mesmerizing me. Plus I'm going to go out more, stop being lazy and relying on the convenience. Going to implement the ideas in Elmechs daygame hack thread and more.

That's the attitude.

Seriously, for everyone that claims "omg I need my Amazon Prime!!" take a second and look at your previous purchases.

I bet it can all be boiled down into the following:

-Shit you don't need
-Books
-Shit you can get at Walgreens (where you can meet chicks)
-Shit you can get at Target (where you can meet chicks)

I still use Amazon to buy books but guess what, you get free shipping for orders over $25.

If you're struggling cutting ties, I suggest you travel more. Living out of a suitcase teaches you the importance of living lean.

In 2017 I decided I was gonna leave my job, start working for myself, and travel. I stopped buying anything, and started getting rid of unnecessary shit so I can be more agile. I highly suggest everyone do the same.

The question is, is Amazon a tolerable large corporation? I would say no, they're a merchant that sells what is politically expedient and drives out of business small enterprises (Amazon is arguably anti-Trust nearly at this point).

They share a lot in common with Wal-Mart, and that just basically means they're destroying America and jobs.

I almost like Target more in spite of their SJW bullshit.

You don't need it! I'm in fucking belgrade, and I manage to survive. There are other players on the internet, and they have a lot more to offer. Amazon does not need your business at this point. Just leave. I would rather pay more myself.
