Using an unactivated hotspot is a fantastic idea. Used battery powered mobile hot spots are dirt cheap.

Best part is they have no way of finding out who it is. If they demand to see people's phones I'll react by telling them I'm an erotic photographer so absolutely not.

Catch is its gotta be a wifi Hotspot where people are using laptops, that's where you will have a ton of people looking through the list of available wifi trying to find the right one.

Like they said though...if you're using a used hotspot then good freakin luck with the dox. I've also taken a look around and finding the owner of a wi-fi hotspot usually requires a lot of technical knowledge so the odds of someone being present in your typical coffee shop are pretty low.

This is a huge win. Regardless of whether the charges are successfully prosecuted, the very fact that she didn't receive a 100% pussy pass is actually surprising to me, given that all she did was steal some lecture notes.
