Just wanted to clear up a few things about how I see Brazil now.
First of all as much I have seen a decline here in Brasilia, I would still take it over any city in the USA (that is unless I had the bankroll to afford a great lifestyle in Manhattan).
What has really become apparent (at least here in Brasilia) is a lack of enthusiam or urgency. when it comes to dating men. Lat time I came for 2 weeks and pipelined through badoo and tagged. I hit the ground running fast. The girls seemed very friendly and dating them was relatively easy. Now it is excruciatingly slow and it seems like a long slog. You get some responses, but a lot of them say, " maybe next week or the weekend since Im busy working and then have a class at night".
That is a problem because here because a minimum of 60 percent of the talent that is available is online, since the city was designed for car drivers. Day game is doable when at the mall or when you are taking a bus, but is nowhere near optimal since the people seem so busy now. Night venues here are almost all sit down boates, where people go to drink with their friends and co-workers. Obviously, I didnt come to Brasilia for the nightlife, but expected the size of the city with online opportunities and day game to keep me busy (for 1 month) like it did last time.
So here I see an attitude shift going on (one that is very quick). Hearing politicians speak on t.v. reminds me of those we have back in the US. The election of a woman president was a bad sign. You see a lot of beta chumps in this city now, and it seems brazilian machismo, which kept women in check, is waning. Women are getting as involved in careers like in the US. Use to make fun of career girls in Brazil before and mockingly called them feminisits and they said all the right things to prove me wrong. It was almost just for show, a woman having a career before---- but now it is for real. All this in one city for sure, and until I see more evidence in other cities, I wont make anymore judments. But those who are traveling or will travel to Brazil should keep that in mind
Bear in mind, I dont have a problem closing since my portuguese is fluent and I know how to game thse girls....but the level of flaking, lack of enthusiam, warmth is making my brother and I miss Colombia and SE Asia. So now in 2 weeks it is time to head to another city.
Manaus seems like the likely candidate for the 2nd month of our trip. We all know the reputation the city has....but more than that it is as isolated as a big city can be in Brazil. So there could not be a bigger contrast than Manaus to Brasilia. Hopefully, I can find a nice furnished apartment in a nice area because we will need it wilth all lthe heat, rain, mosquitoes that we shall encounter there.
