What's with All the Old High School Homophobes Coming Out in Support of Gay Marriage?

I was in high school in the jolly old 2000s.

"Faggot" and "homo" were bandied about at my school more often seemingly than "the", "and", and "a".

I think everybody used these words, as everything from a term of endearment to friends (as weird as it sounds), an insult, a greeting, a farewell etc. Some guys used them ad nauseam, however.

But next minute in 2017...

...many of the old homophobes are now chomping at the bit to endorse gay marriage.

I'm not talking about people who oppose gay marriage for social or political reasons - I'm talking about the guys we all went to school with, many of them as mentally thick as a concrete slab, who just went overboard with the gay terminology.

Thoughts?

The vast majority of people have no committed belief system, and will simply bend to whatever is popular in the moment.

It's nothing more than that.

They don't want to be socially outcast, even if they know in their heart of hearts that one man sticking his dick up another man's ass is one of the most unnatural and disgusting things ever.

I see people just acting indifferent to such social issues. Probably a mix of virtue signaling and a healthy fear of the leftist mob.

Yup, they were unnecessarilly cruel to gay kids when that was cool, and the over the top cucking (and cruel to critics) when that becomes cool.

Their girlfriends, wives, or girls they're interested in but aren't banging are all for it. Therefore they are for it.

In short. They are supplicating little twats.

Duuuuuuude...

One of my friends from college was ranting the other day on how he had "put a troll in his place" by replying on some post on Facebook, "well, its a scientiffically proven FACT that there are more than 2 genders...!"

He spent the whole dinner checking his phone to see if he had a response back, taking the lack of response as a "victory". (He was apparently white-knighting on a girls post in support of some gay thing)

The joke: he majored in biology.

Pussy. What else?

Trust me, high school homophobia is alive & well on the job site, as are the heartwarming levels of casual racism & islamophobia. But the vast majority of these men will keep their mouths shut about homo's at home as most of them ascribe to the "happy wife, happy life" ethos. Sexism has been ruled out amongst these men even when away from their wives/girlfriends. The white knight is strong in these men & their wives / girlfriends have all had "fabulous" gay friends (or been a straight up fag hag at some point)

I was only yesterday reminiscing the innocence at age 8 of running around the playground calling my mate Brendan a poofta. I thought the word sounded hilarious. Had no idea what it meant at the time.

I still refuse to not call things out as "gay" (in the high school sense) whenever I get the opportunity (& I make them a lot). It's the Sigma in me.

Faggotry is one of my favourite words & I use it liberally (if you'll pardon the pun)

as for this thread after reading all posts....all I can think is that two brothers can call themselves what the fuck they want. There is no stronger bond than true friendship between men.

It's nothing more than that.

A major cause of this is the decline of Christianity in western countries - the Bible says Adam and Eve, now a lot of people seem to be OK with Adam and Steve.

I'm not from a Christian background but it seems pathetic how spineless many churches are when it comes to family relationships. Gay marriage would have been unfathomable to Jesus, yet a lot of churches now allow it.

It seems that one of the only communities that can be unashamedly anti gay marriage and not suffer negative repercussions in mainstream culture are Muslims. At least they stick to their beliefs and are not willing to change them to please SJWs.

I think another issue is women - a lot of women LOVE faggots and some guys are so thirsty they go along with the woman's beliefs.

Some of the responses here don't make any sense really. It's not really about being a social outcast or job security as you can almost certainly just keep quiet and achieve the same result. The "dumb as a concrete slab" guys really do "believe" gay marriage is great!(that is, if you can actually have strong beliefs if you're that dumb) But still would insult you for being a fag if you aren't into "bogan" manly activities.

The truth is that this is pretty much really only a "thing" in Australia(not to say it doesn't happen elsewhere, but what was described was a very Aussie, bogan thing to do). This is why "man up" or "real man" or whatever shaming really only works in Australia, in the sense that they only say it to manipulate you. Any other people who are easily manipulated don't really care that much about "being a real man". This happens in the US too sure but in Aus it's on a whole nother level. This sort of thing was why Cassie Jaye was roundly slammed and no one did a thing about it. Why domestic violence is circlejerked about(white knighting) so much.

NZ is an offshoot of Aus culture so a similar thing happens here too(but the brainwashing isn't as strong).

So as Americans who aren't familiar with Australia you don't really understand fully what's happening.

Davo: my girlfriend just said to tell them 'Everyone back in high school always thought you were overcompensating for something with all that over-the-top homophobia' and that you 'think it's great that you're finally coming out of the closet'.

Yeah, she's evil, but, don't worry, I'll spank her later.

As studies showed - the same men are still disgusted viscerally when seeing gay men kissing, but they have been brainwashed enough to be all for it - or else be a thought-criminal.

I had a hiatus away from the USA for a few years for work, and even before then I was working in a high T environment. Upon my return to a major city in the US for school, I was shocked to see that calling someone a faggot was considered MORE offensive than the N-word. No exageration there. The homosexuals have fully legitimized themselves as a protected class.

I remember, just a few years ago, when the term faggot was thrown around very cavalierely, all in good fun. It's a great way to describe a man if he's acting excessively effeminate.

I had a gay ol' time with faggotry being slung about. It can be hilarious. Remember that Eddie Murphy skit?

This faggotry must end!

They will do the same with pedo. Pedophile will be just a sexual orientation just as donkey fucking will be one. Don't be a pedophilephobe or beastialityphobe.

Humanity can be shaped well, though the gay acceptance war took decades.

I remember riding the metro in Montreal once and two dudes started making out in front of everyone. I looked around and people seemed genuinely disgusted by it, turning to the side and whispering to the next person. And this is in one of the most liberal cities in the world.

So while people may say they support faggotry, they are visibly disgusted by it. So AB is essentially right: no belief system whatsoever.
