The money is definitely less than it was when she was in her prime. While there is certainly a fat niche in porno, the girls get paid less AND fewer films are made.

IIRC, Carmella started to focus more on escorting. Her logic was that she got paid the same or more for a 1 hour session with a trick (that probably only lasts half that long because the guy blows his wad early) as she did for doing a shoot that could take up 3-4 hours out of her day. After she had her kid, she completely let herself go.

In America I've known two girls to gain over 100 pounds in less than a year, for no real medical reason. It's quite a sight to behold.

If I had to take a guess, she got old. Porn stars need to be young and pert, age is age, you cant fight that BUT the fattie niche isn't going to look down on sag, its built on it.

She got old so things started to go to hell, so rather then just retire she swelled up and went for that niche, using her already established name to help pull in more money.

I know that the statistics say that obesity has been stable for the past 5-10 years. But over the same time, fatties have definitely become more outspoken and ubiquitous.

My guess is that we won't see a serious reduction until we seriously change the way we eat. And that means government action. I'm not a fan of big government, but with all the negative forces aligned against good nutrition, I don't see a way out without a serious change in government policy.

It may sound strange, but also making the use of standing desks common might help too. I recently tried to get a standing desk at work, and they put up enough hurdles to deter me and focus on other things. They were actively discouraging me, even as they're holding some stupid weight loss competition with a vacation as grand prize. Plus, I got to hear a bunch of teasing from chubby coworkers. When you consider that standing instead of sitting can increase your calorie expenditure by several hundred calories, it could reduce weight gain considerably. Here too, government policy, of say, encouraging the use of such desks in their own offices, would work wonders. The government is so pervasive that anything it does acquires instant legitimacy.

Obesity rates are peaking throughout the developed world. We've gone just about as low as we can go with that particular epidemic. The battle is obviously not over and a large scale decline is still years away, but we've got nowhere to go but down at this point.
