Interesting that there were no questions about sex or immigration. I guess the problem with immigration, though, is that it can be considered both an economic and cultural issue.
Also, nothing about tariffs, although I guess the question about the European Union is a proxy for that. If I recall correctly, though, Helmut Kohl's vision of the European Union was that it would be a neoliberal union, rather than a socialist or interventionist union imposing a lot of unnecessary taxes and regulation. Rather, in an E.U. led by neoliberals, countries that tried to go in a socialist direction would lose workers, customers, and capital to countries with freer markets. Europeans would cross borders freely within the European Union, but
there wouldn't be a mass influx of non-European refugees into Europe.
The United Nations, on the other hand, was always intended as a way of spreading leftism worldwide. It was, after all, dreamed up by Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Its Charter speaks of using the Great Powers' military strength, rather than
free markets and free trade, to bring about world peace. It also sets up a lot of bureaucracy for central planning of education, culture, science, law, etc.
