Great thread, big fan of the show, though of course it was at its best in the earlier seasons. Why can't Stewie go back to trying to take over the world instead of being used for gay jokes?
Also, one of the strengths of Family Guy is that even though you'll miss a lot of references, the jokes are still funny, and even funnier when you get it. This helped explain a lot of things before my time:
