Odessa Datasheet Winter 2015
Okay guys I promised a datasheet after I left Odessa. I’ve been here about 2 weeks and have been to many places throughout the city. I will keep this short and sweet as there already many datasheets on Odessa; I will try and expand on what has not been written about.
Girls: I think there is a general consensus among the community that Ukrainian and Russian women are some of the hottest in the world. Yes, I have seen some gorgeous women here even a rare 10 here and there which I would never see in America unless being paid for their beauty. They are everywhere though, the mall, McDonalds, streets just about any place you can imagine. Women outnumber the men everywhere you go. I think there are even more women here now since a lot of the men are being recruited to go to fight the war. Some of the guys ask me if there are hot women in the US, I say yes there are but I think if there was one word to describe Ukrainian girls is consistency.
Venues:
Shkaf: This is one of the local hipsters bar located a block off the main street of deribasovskaya st. This place is where the students, expats and also the hipsters go too. There are surprising amount of hipsters here in Ukraine, more than I initially thought. This is a good place to meet English speakers. There are different types of girls anywhere from hipsters to locals. This is a good place to go to if you’re looking to make some new friends here. The weekdays in Odessa are pretty slow compared to the weekends and this place is one of the better venues for the weekdays as more locals come here.
Crux bar(I don’t think is right, if anybody knows) This bar/club is located about two doors down from Shkaf. This bar is more of a house/techno scene here and is really small. It seems to be only busy during the weekends so I would only recommend going there either Friday or Saturday. I saw some incredibly good looking girls here with a bit more edge and tattoos. I would check this bar/club out for sure. I will be sure to come here on my second time around.
Ministerium dogma club- I don’t think this place has been mentioned but this is the where ballers and connected go to. The prices comparatively are double the prices of the local bars and clubs in Odessa. I went with a Russian speaking friend so he showed me the ropes a little bit. To give you guys an idea of this place, I think I saw the hottest girl I’ve ever seen in here, and this is considering I’ve lived in Las Vegas for a few years and been to just about every major city in North America. The girls outnumber guys in this place almost 2 to 1. This is definitely the place to go if the beach clubs are not open yet and you’re looking for upper echelon of Odessa’s women. One caveat about this place is that I would say less than 1 out of 5 girls can speak good enough English to have a conversation with (bummer I know).
TrueMan Bar- This place has been mentioned before but I will write a little synopsis of this place. This is the bar you probably want to go to. The bar is fairly busy most of the time and has a good amount of talent ranging from the local hipster girls to some really hot local girls. This place has two levels as well and has a band usually playing there as well, so there is small cover charge to get in. I really liked this place as it was one of the more consistent places to go to.
Food: I am not a huge fan of any Eastern Europe food as it just too bland for me. I’ve tried some of the local restaurants from some of the higher restaurants to mom and pop places. Honestly the food is not worth the prices here and I would recommend just getting some basic foods here of chicken rice, and vegetables and if you have too McDonalds.
Currency: This is almost in of itself makes it worth coming to Ukraine for currently. The exchange rate currently is around 23 to 1 or on the black market like 25 to 1. Considering drinks at bars range from 30 to 50 Ukrainian Hryvnia everything is cheap here for Americans and other developed nation. Everyone knows that it can sometimes play into your favor as the front door guys at clubs and restaurant knowing you have money, won’t hassle you at the door. Other times the cabs and some of the locals will try and rip you off.
Cellphone Service: Most of the locals here use the Life cell phone service. The cell phone service honestly sucks here, well I shouldn’t say the cell phone service sucks but the internet on cell phone service is horrible. The phones are currently only at 2G speeds and barely even worth getting or using for that matter.
Summary: All in all I think Ukraine is definitely worth checking out. It’s one thing if I am in a country and it’s just okay but I am spending $200 to $300 dollars a night to go out have fun but it’s another thing when I go out and buying everyone and their mom a drink and still only spending $75.00. It’s awesome feeling knowing that you don’t have to worry about expenditures here in the Ukraine.
Does being American help? I get asked this question from my friends back home. It helps a bit when starting conversations as some girls and even guys are curious as to why you are here. If you’re thinking girls are throwing themselves down at your feet because you’re American, that isn’t happening. I guess one of the stranger things was that I don’t think I met one other American while my two weeks in Odessa.
As for the women and I what I think of the women here. Yes there a ton of beautiful women here almost like a joke compared to the United States.
Are they easy? No, it’s definitely not a one night stand city and it would probably take about 2 weeks to get your flag here. Are your chances of getting a flag higher here? Yes, just because of the sheer number of women you’re bound to find someone. As for competition from the Ukrainian men, I wouldn’t really worry about them too much, if you’re a good looking guy with some game you’re going to do really well here.
