Funny enough, one of my Brazilian buddies of Chinese descent studied abroad in Asia and visited Seoul along the way.

I won't front like every other internet gangsta - I haven't banged a personal 9+ here (above average looks, game, etc) - granted my going out time is limited and logistics fucked. In the USA, a lot of guys (and girls) seem to have some sort of pride/ego when it comes to paying for cover/table. In Korea, it's kind of the opposite. If you aren't the one pouring alc down her throat, there are 50-100 other dudes at the club that will. At best, I'll get a real hottie talking/maybe a bit of kino/dancing before she goes to meet whoever at a table

Yea as someone who lives in a family town and sees lots of kids (granted they're not fully grown yet), it's like anywhere else in the world - there's average and maybe a few naturally beautiful people here and there. Whereas walking around and looking at females from 18-30, you'd think this was the one of the most genetically blessed peoples on the planet. Also, Korean's skin tone is not as white as everyone thinks - there is something I think Koreans refer to as toner that is put into cosmetics to achieve that effect. I'd say the average is more light olive-ish complexion.

Wasn't in BKK long enough to see the bad sides of Korean behavior abroad (I usually think most Koreans are pretty well-behaved compared to Westerners) but can confirm being Korean there is mad bonus points. And yea, being Korean is awesome when you meet another Korean abroad - we have a feeling of closeness/instant connection (there is a word for it). And yea, I've seen a decent amount of Southeast Asian/Chinese chicks with plastic in Korea (though perhaps self-selecting as they go to the mecca of plastic) and a few in BKK

1) Not Korean. Saw you said you were Singaporean/Japanese - if by Singaporean you mean Chinese, that's bad (low value); Japanese = bad (Koreans raised to hate Japanese because of colonialism)
2) Not tall. I think I saw you post you were 174cm somewhere
- If you aren't 180cm+ (5'11"+) you are a loser - kind of an extreme example but this was a huge deal (2009)
- Obviously you have a chance if you aren't tall (I'm barely taller than you but also am Korean/speak Korean pretty well/have a good face/above average body/above average style/the best game - aka smashing sloots not getting numbers, etc - out of anyone i know minus like 1-2 people) but height is a very real concern of most people in Korea (even though apparently only ~10% of guys are 180+ according to 2015 military draft statistics ). Being short will just make things harder. Most girls and guys wear height-increasing shoes or height insoles in their shoes to make themselves look taller. Would even say height is probably a top 10 topic of conversation. A lot of people (guys and girls) ask me my height when I meet them

I'm not going to quote anything because there is too much golden information recently. My thoughts on each matter:

1) Fraternity Atmosphere of Koreans -
This is definitely true. To an extent, there is somewhat of a close bond between Vietnamese as well. When I lived in Queens, New York..I was first exposed to many Korean friends. They all had a tight camaraderie when getting to meet each other.

When I ran into ppl of Chinese descent however, they were cordial, but also subtly insisted on distancing themselves from each other. It was essentially "ok...another zillionth Chinese person in the world..oh well..go away." The smaller overall population of Koreans in the world gives them incentive to convene when encountering each other.

It's almost like Brazilians who might avoid each other when outside of their country whereas Portuguese people possess a much tighter bond.

2) Koreans on Chinese & Vietnamese - Whiteknightrises is correct about this perspective of looking down on Chinese. Whenever I'm around a Korean friend, it's as if they do not acknowledge the existence of Chinese food LOL. Many Koreans however respect Vietnamese & talk about how much they love Pho. What many Koreans do not get however is that Vietnamese tend to talk trash about Koreans as being overly dramatic & pretentious big spenders.

3) Japanese Investment in SE Asia - I didn't know about Thailand...but I did notice it when in Hanoi, Vietnam recently. The biggest shopping mall in Vietnam is in Hanoi as the Japanese constructed it in order to push a lot of their products within the country. Great facility!

I think Japanese businessmen used to be perceived as the imperialistic types who would go to different Asian countries & treat their women like crap. Times seem to be changing as they are now more respected.

4) In Breeding Amongst Koreans & Resulting Defects - I didn't know this was a problem in the past. It's essentially why a lot of Brits look goofy due to the past inbreeding to preserve money within top affluent circles. Korean chicks I've met from Korea can look hit or miss. Most of the Korean girls raised in the US are tops appearance wise from my experience however. It's the best blend of voluptuous bodies and cleanest facial features amongst Asian women IMO.

Japanese are huge investors everywhere in southeast asia. Even in Manila there's a lot of public works stamped with joint Japanese/Filipino construction. In Thailand they are credited with building the subway system there as well as lots of other public works. Japanese investment is actually very undervalued and underestimated. They have done a lot of positive shit in SEA since WW2..

Speaking of Koreans in Vietnam. The entire district 7 is little Korea as you well know. You are right about Vietnamese talking shit about Koreans though. The girl I was seeing in HCMC would joke about Koreans crowding into D7 (she lived there) all the time. The irony is that the commercial center and community behind D7 was originally founded by a rich Taiwanese dude.

Koreans unlike the current day Japanese tend to overstay their welcome though. Japanese are very low key for the most part for obvious reasons. A lot of Filipinos don't really like Koreans and consider them rude and arrogant especially in places like Boracay. They tolerate K's because of the tourist dollars and investment but don't really like them as much as people think.

Saying it like it is. I like that and appreciate that. I know how height is super important in Korea, I can't believe how many conversations I've had with Koreans about height. It's really no joke. I have experienced the difficulty gaming in Korea but I have unfortunately developed a liking for Korean girls. You could say I appreciate the challenge

With that said, I have had some success in Korea and wasn't exactly a complete drought. Of course, it has been much easier gaming Koreans overseas. The racism thing against Chinese/Japanese... it's important for game but doesn't really affect me personally. I've been in Manila for just about a week now, so I figured it was a good point to share some things I've noticed.

Because I'm a video game nerd, I feel the easiest way to explain this is with an Assassin's Creed analogy.

I should first preface, that I am a 6'0, dark-skinned, Chinese American, short cropped hair with some facial hair now, and I regularly wear glasses. My standard outfit has been a button down with sleeves rolled up, navy blue chino shorts, and black and white monochrome sneakers. I expect that deviations from this will result in different, maybe drastically so, results.

For me though, walking around on the street could be considered "stealth" or "low-profile" mode. I'm generally not solicited by hookers, ladyboys, street vendors, trike drivers, condo salesmen, or whatever else is around. I actually did a very informal experiment on this. I walked behind a standard busted white dude, cargo shorts, flip flops, Hawaiian shirt, and beer belly, counting how many solicitations he got. I tailed at about 10 yards and also counted how many approached me, just as foreign, following up behind.

In 5 blocks on Manila proper, he was accosted 24 times. I was only approached 3 times.

But this is just low profile mode; me silently walking with purpose and a generally dispassionate look on my face. Performing certain actions quickly put me in "tourist" or "high profile" mode. The main one was taking a picture of anything with my phone. Instantly the gig is up. Others include being a little more cautious about walking down the street as jeepneys barrel down inches from you, not understanding Tagalog when prompted, or saying anything.

Overall, the vibe is basically that people felt something was a bit off about me, maybe worth a double take or glanceover, but ultimately they couldn't really be bothered to give a fuck. Not like the eye rape and awe that white foreigners received. (I've only seen a grand total of four black brothers here this whole time, so the sample size is too insignificant)

There are definitely additional things I could have done to further my camo, including:

wearing jeans, most guys my age were, but I value not having heatstroke so that was something I would not compromise on.

not wearing glasses: I guess most guys wear contacts or nothing, only a few university uniform nerdy looking guys were the others wearing glasses.

being a bit more tan still.

speaking just a few more words of Tagalog. I got lazy in that I did pretty much no language prep for this place.

In terms of girls, I have taken Chinito Loco's words under advisement, and have now been telling girls that I'm either Chinese, Japanese, or Korean, just to see what sort of different reactions I get. It's not scientific at all, since they are entirely different girls, but it'd be interesting to see if our general trends we postulate crystallize. More on that at the conclusion of my trip in another week.

The point I'm trying to make is this jibber jabber of a hierarchy of Asian ethnicity is short-sighted and shouldn't be taken too seriously.

There seems to be a trend of people thinking Korean guys can kill it everywhere. Great. All that proves is there's a lot of Koreans here and that they have the best PR team of all the Asian countries lol.

If you distill it there's absolutely 0 ethnic advantage if you're Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai etc. If you're that insecure about your particular Asian nationality then just pretend to be Korean like a self-doubtful b*tch then.

In the end the Asian with the most game and style will get the girl. Not whether you look like a skinny f*aggy looking kpop star unless you're looking to bang underage girls.

Very true, I can attest to that many black girls secretly adore Korean men or asian men in general. Many do love kpop and kdrama. I am not talking about the hood type. Asian men represent stability, good education and career that many men lack in the black community.

Anyway, Korean men deserve some respect though. Unless you grew up in Korea, no other asian man will understand the plight of Korean men. They may not exude so called alpha characteristics of the western value, but the truth is the average Korean man is probably mentally and physically tougher than you and he can probably outdrink you. In fact, these Asian American kids that grew up in America are a just laughing stock, they seriously need to get out of their cocoon one day. Growing up in Korea sucks. It's a super competitive society as many of you know. When I was in Korea, getting into a fist fight with one of your classmates in the schoolyard is almost a daily thing and you definitely don't want to be at the bottom of the totem pole and become someone's bitch. It can quickly become a place of the survival of the fittest both physically and academically. Many kids do some sort of martial arts (usually takwando) at an early age while studying 14 damn hours a day. It was almost a daily thing (don't know about now) from kindergarten to all the way up to high school that kids get get beat up by school teachers and their dads for all kinds of reasons. Corporal punishment was prevalent everywhere. I remember getting beat up with a hockey stick at school so severely that I was barely able to walk for several weeks. I got beat up almost every day left to right. And then there is the military conscription. Every Korean man has to give up 2 years of their precious adulthood in the most grueling and rigorous training. I am a former US Marine and I've worked with the ROK Marines. All I can tell you is that they have it pretty bad and they are tough. Almost a half million Korean men served in the Vietnam war with the USA and they were some of the most brutal, and effective soldiers. Viet Congs didn't want to fuck with Korean soldiers. Try finding a job in Korea after college and then there is the competition to look taller and better. Korean men are angry, hot tempered and aggressive and don't like anyone whether you are black, white or asians but you just can't fuck with Korean men because they really earned their right to be so.

I agree for the most part that Asian-Americans are a sackless bunch men and women alike but that's due to a lot of reasons.

I think people need to tone down the K-pride racial/cultural supremacy thing though. We all know the real reason why Koreans are so angry is hundreds of years of being kicked around. yeah, a lot of it is just insecurity. They've been walked all over and bullied around from all fronts and their resentment has been passed down for many generations. Corporal punishment was prevalent everywhere. I remember getting beat up with a hockey stick at school so severely that I was barely able to walk for several weeks. I got beat up almost every day left to right. And then there is the military conscription. Every Korean man has to give up 2 years of their precious adulthood in the most grueling and rigorous training. I am a former US Marine and I've worked with the ROK Marines. All I can tell you is that they have it pretty bad and they are tough. Almost a half million Korean men served in the Vietnam war with the USA and they were some of the most brutal, and effective soldiers. Viet Congs didn't want to fuck with Korean soldiers. Try finding a job in Korea after college and then there is the competition to look taller and better. Korean men are angry, hot tempered and aggressive and don't like anyone whether you are black, white or asians but you just can't fuck with Korean men because they really earned their right to be so.

How old are you? That doesn't really sound too much like present day Korea. Corporal punishment is basically nonexistent nowadays and the military service isn't as tough as it once was. Young Koreans these days are soft and whiny bitches especially compared to the older generations. But on the other hand young Koreans these days are probably a bit smoother around the edges.

In my travels and being from Los Angeles, I have meet very few Asian who men who are actually good at getting laid. There are alot of pretenders, wannabes and clowns.

I would have to say I haven't seen many innovative Casanova's , and who are taking advantage of the many opportunities in the world.

I think the fault lays with the student. Alot of complaining and very little action to take advantage of opportunities.

Most asian are so competitive they won't help each other.

Most American men prefer a short cut mentality.

It's interesting because in the workplace asians are suppose to be all cooperative and all, you know the Asian culture of being part of the group, don't stand out, etc, but maybe this does not apply in other areas in life.

Yes many Asians are competitive; I however don't think the lack of an Asian support group regarding game lies within not willing to help others. That's the argument for many of us who joined the community. Got to a see a good family friend recently from Thailand. He just got engaged. Guy mentioned how the bang "numbers" are not that important though you still need the "#s" to get a better understanding of women and how to deal with them long-term if you decide to make the commitment. Kind of goes along with what you're saying.

People by nature are inclined to desire that long-term partner. As some people like myself get entrenched with other obstacles, goals, pains, and failures outside of dating, the pursuit of a long-term partner gets put on the shelf; another consequence is taking the bullshit of dating less personally being preoccupied with so many other issues.

When I have that spare time in the near future, it's back to serial dating habits with silent warning signals of "buyer beware" yet again...
