Do not listen to mainstream opinion when picking a travel spot

Everywhere I go, average Joe Blow on my blog tries to scare me.

When I was going to Iceland they said, "It's going to be really hard to bang there because it's so small. They don't want to be seen with foreigners."

Wrong.

When I went to Denmark they said, "They really hate middle eastern dudes. You better watch it."

Wrong.

When I went to Poland they said, "The girls there are Catholic and very conservative. They won't put out quickly and you have to date them."

Wrong.

Even some members on the forum have shared information that is the opposite of my experience.

Pick a place that YOU want to go to, then work it the best you can. I'm finding that letting other guys decide your travel choices is not a good idea. Get advice, gather information, then go with your gut. Don't let people scare you out of a place that you want to experience.

Good advice, Roosh.

I think the main driver should be do you find the women there to be attractive and do you like the culture. This type of research is easier to do & less fraught with bias since there are a ton (for most places) of sites where you can look at pics of the local women and read about the culture of the area you want to visit.

Only after that should you start counting the opinions of others.

I would not be that harsh, cause why do we have this forum if not to share information about places and girls?

Surely you should take all info with a pinch of salt, and that is true generally in your life, not only cause maybe the person sharing his experience is unreliable or tend to exaggerate but also as one experience can be different than another as of various reasons.

Don't be afraid to hit up Russia after Latvia, the forums panic over racism there is certainly overblown.

Agreed 1000%. Have had very similar experiences. You don't know shit about a place until you've been there yourself.

This forum is amazing for information to get an idea of what's going on in a country. I use it mostly for nightlife intel and also for what to expect from the women. For guys here that I trust (Mixx, Luckystar, etc), their opinion will weigh heavily in my choices.

But I will not be heavily swayed by anonymous commenters on the blog, or guys I don't really know. Just be careful who you listen to. At the minimum, look for triangulation (a lot of guys saying the same thing). This is why I feel some responsibility for when I write about certain countries.

Every time you hop on a plane you're taking a risk, but that's what travel is about. Take your risk, grind it out, and then learn from it for the next trip.

Reminds me of the "horror stories" about the English/Italien crowds in Riga.

When I was there I've seen not a single Englishman. There were some Italians, but only a few. One of them did a street approach and received a (probably flaking) number. Not a competition one has to fear. Girls in Riga were open and friendly to me, at least those I have approached.

I always thought the best way to choose a country to visit was by picking somewhere not based on how hot the women are but going somewhere you are genuinely interested in, whether it be the culture, history, there's loads you want to see and do etc. There are women everywhere and good looking women in every country in the world, some of them will always want to fuck. I've found I've had massively different experiences from people on this forum and other travellers on how easy or difficult a place is to fuck. They might have struggled where I wasn't having any problems and vice versa. It's trial and error but IMO always travel to somewhere you have an interest in that isn't solely just women, see them as a bonus.

Wrong.

I blame the "Hostel" movies and "Turistas" for all the travel paranoia...HA HA! Seriously...I think guys mean well, but if their contribution starts with, "I heard that...blah, blah..." then take it with a grain of salt. They're not relaying their own experience, but someone elses. KingofScotland is right in that you should travel for personal interest in the country, with women as a bonus. In that case, you should attempt to pipeline first if you have enough lead time, as well as gaming when you get there. But fit in women around other planned activities, instead of relying on tricks to provide you with entertainment.

I have to admit I tend to go for countries that are experiencing economic meltdown and have pretty girls.

Saying that I hope to go to S America this winter, i'm genuinely interested in going as i've never been. Although I have that rosy visual in my head of being on Copcabana with a Hawaii shirt, cocktail, with two buxom Brazilian broads .

My rule of thumb is to avoid anything that's mainstream. If a place is too mainstream, stay away and do the opposite of the sheeps/masses. The more a place is seen as un-mainstream, the more I want to go. Not speaking the local language has never been a problem for me. On my first trip to Brasil in 2005, I spoke very little Portuguese and knew nobody there; on my trip to Argentina, idem. When I went to Thailand, didn't speak a lick of Thai nor knew anyone, same for the Philippines or Japan and this is not going to change. I like the exotism of going to places with no contacts and get things going. That's what adventure is and travel is the biggest adventure there is.

I agree with you to a certain extent. When Stag Weekenders plan their little weekends of fun they concentrate on the usual European cities like Budapest, Krakow, Prague etc. They want to play it safe because they are only away for 2 or 3 days, and one mishap could fuck it up for them.

Then again, there are places that a lot of tourists don't go to for good reason, because they suck.

Yeah you don't need any language skills in South East Asia, their economies rely heavily on tourism.

True, very true. But if you do get stabbed or something for being non Slavic looking in St. Petersberg or Moscow you can't say we didn't warn you.

Living in Europe is awesome because I get to travel regularly to the places that most of you guys talk about. I have to say that a lot of it is spot on, but one can't help but notice that a lot of these opinions are based from people who don't spend more than 2 weeks someplace. I think anywhere you go, if you are a modest well dressed due that makes an attempt to speak the language and be aware of your surroundings, it doesn't matter what you look like, you'll be successful. Overseas is raw as hell, but most people will stop fucking around and take your serious when they see you mean business.

To me, the biggest hurdle lately has been bouncers at clubs overseas. A lot of the times these shitstains have to stand outside all night and take sick pleasure in fucking with the foreigner when he's just trying to get in and get some ass. Most people on this thread have noticed that too. So that I've noticed have actually been true. Everything else is up to you.

Girls recognize a confident dude. Dressing well helps with that.

Considering how few Americans have passports and the fact that those that do usually travel to Canada, Mexico, U.K. and the Caribbean. With the exception of Japan, all those places are considered "exotic" in the U.S.

One thing I will add to this is the opinions of guys who have never even been to a particular country, but would offer advice on something like Fiji because they once had sex with a Fijian girl in England. Or the dude who hangs out at the Vietnamese restaurant on the corner and once number closed the cashier after she flirted with him a few times. When I see this sort of attitude, I immediately wonder if they have ever really travelled at all.

The only time you can form an accurate, fair opinion of the people or place is when you have spent a bit of time there. Not a few days either, some genuine time or a few trips at least. Going to Kiev for 4 days does not make you an expert on the Ukraine for example and your views are going to be based on very few experiences that may not be an accurate representation of anything.

If I had to base my views of the French on the French women I banged abroad, I would think France this wonderful place where the women are DTF and the people quite amicable and friendly. I HATE France and I cant stand the French and will never go back to that country. I wont even connect through their airports just so I dont have to deal with the pigs. I wept with unbridled joy when they got what was coming to them in Armageddon. Thank fuck Bruce saved us AFTER Paris got fucked up. Ill share one of the finest moments in cinema in the clip below. The destruction of Paris. This clip is like viagra.

It also needs to be noted though that people are going to have different experiences with some places. Everyone talks about the amazing women in Brazil, in particular Rio where most of them go. I struggled my ass off in the place and while the top shelf women are built for sex, the average Brazilian woman to me was nothing special at all. Rio, and I think the north of Brazil, is simply not for me at all. I think they are on average fat and they are simply not what I find attractive at all.

Then I spent some time in Rio Grande de Sol and Santa Catarina, and even though I could not speak a lick of Portuguese I carved the place up. I also thought the women were far, far hotter when I went south. I love the place so much I am looking at buying property out there now when the real estate laws change late 2013. I have been back twice and I would not bother going to Rio again for anything but the Olympics or Football World Cup.

Now if I had not left Rio I would have walked away very unimpressed, but Rio was not all of Brazil.

I know the kind of women I am most attracted to, as well as the countries I wish to visit. I generally solicit advice when it comes to nightlife options and hidden gems once I'm in a particular country, but not about which countries to go to or avoid. Hell, I would even go to Russia in spite of the danger I hear it poses to foreigners. I definitely follow my own intuition.

It is also important that things change fast. What was valid 2 years ago maybe now is not due to economic and social changes so you have to rely on recent information.

+1, when I went to sweden, people told me don't go you will be the only black man, LOL, there are more blacks in any given part of stockholm there than in my local neighbourhood. And for you being middle eastern, yes they are racist in europe to middle eastern men in jobs but that just makes you a bad boy and more attractive to women there. In fact I'd be surprised if you did not get raped by hot women, which is not that bad.

True Arabs have it very bad in Scandinavia due to a magnitude of reasons.Basically Scandinavian males outsmart them and date hot Arab women while Arabs get scrabs from swedish women. This creates an enormous tension among Arabs and is one of the reasons of the high rape epidemic in Sweden they do it just to take revenge.
Danish women tend to date only Scandinavian and English guys they do it for nationalistic reasons although the appearance of local Danish men is very low comparatively. They are attracted by foreigners but they are pressed to date only their tribe. This finds some very impressive outbursts sometimes when a Danish girl can go abroad and fuck with a different foreigner every single day just to outflow her level of suppression.Or in the tendency to become lesbians(Scandinavia has the largest percentage of lesbians in the world).

Utter nonsense.

1. Unlike the rest of Europe, I would characterize Scandinavians as highly rational and racial tolerant. I detected no racism when I was Sweden. I routinely engaged with immigrants to get the 'real deal', they almost universally admitted that racism is far, far less than other places and that they were fairly comfortable. I think minorities in Scandinavia use racism as crutch.

2. The rape epidemic and other criminal behavior is a result of low quality admissions. If you let in third rate immigrants, you will witness third rate behavior. You don't think they act like animals back home? Get real.

3. Scandinavians are the least nationalistic people within Western Europe.
