Your Passport Will Be Canceled If You Owe The IRS

So, for those that thought having a U.S. passport revoked would only make international travel and living difficult, got news for you:

Yep, your pretty much going to need a passport inside the United States to travel. For those without state driver's licenses, no more flying around the U.S.

Perhaps that will make the joe the red neck plumbers of the U.S. take notice of the congress is moving to revoke passports.

I really think this is a de facto attempt at taking people's citizenship away. The supreme court has shot down most of congresses other attempts to cancel people's citizenship, but this sucker (and most of the anti-expat laws) are being drafted to side step any judicial entanglements.

I have to hand it to Robert wood at Forbes who has consistently hammered the subject of FACTA and congress going after expats:

Here is the law to revoke passports:

And if you don't have a driver's license you can get a non driver ID from the DMV so no you won't need a passport to fly between cities.

All the more reason to get a tax accountant if you're an expat who owns a portable business.

I don't owe a cent privately or to the government - I'm religious with that stuff as I'm full aware of the possible consequences. I also have a 2nd passport so even if they pulled mine for some b.s. reason they could effectively kiss my shiny metal ass.

You guys in the U.S. however need to keep in mind that any entanglement with the criminal side of the law could effectively turn you into prisoners of your own country. How often do we see stories where guys are getting falsely accused of rape or battery? All it takes is one girl who gets pissed at you and decides to ruin your life by calling the cops over some b.s. reason. We all know that in many cases if you are lucky attorneys will get you to settle for community service and several years of probation. Well, guess what - while on probation you will not be permitted to leave the U.S. without the express permission of your probation officer (which rarely is given). So effectively any dumb ass chick out there with a grudge has the power to not only ruin your career and life but also turn you into a de facto prisoner of your country. Which means saying goodbye to traveling or living abroad.
