Are soldiers in the military white knights for defending a country that women reside in?

Two thugs come to the girl, corner her and want to scar her in the face with a knife.
Captain Save-a-Hoe wants to talk the thugs out of that, they don"t listen to him and slap the girl.
He hits one of them, that one falls on the floor.
After that they run after the guy and manage to hit him several time on the leg and the lung.
No one cared to help him stop the bleeding, or call the police/hospital.
Meanwhile the girl just "excused herself" for that.

Sure, man.
When you hear a thug saying he will scar a girl with his knife.
Knowing you are not related to her.
Knowing you have no weapon of your own, or no fighting background (Martial Arts, Boxing etc) in case he attacks you.
Knowing this happened in a city where at least weekly people die because of a gang or thugs? in the city nicknamed "the capital of Kalachnikov" ?
Would you still go talk to them, rather than calling the police and minding your business?
Also: would he have done the same if it was a man, and not a girl?
Not so sure.

Here's my question:
Why wasn't this dude carrying his own knife he knows he's in one of the most dangerous cities in the world?

Even better is the extendable baton - that way you don't get mired into lawsuits by cutting up someone too much, you can keep several assailants at bay.
Knife fights are tricky, because you have to get real close. The reach of a baton is priceless and you can break bones with that baby. France is not the US where any low-life can pull a gun on you, because it's highly restricted there.

Not sure about France, but collapsible batons are highly restricted weapons in many places, as they fit the criteria of a concealed weapon.
It's not generally illegal in most places in carry a big stick, but carrying a weapon designed to easy to hide and surprise a victim with is often not legal.
For example, collapsible batons are restricted to sworn LEO in Canada. Even certified security guards can't carry them. They can carry a one-piece baton, but it has to be visible.
You also can't conceal carry a knife with a blade length greater than three inches in Canada or anything the mechanical opener.
Switch blades are illegal in some states. It's even illegal to carry handcuff keys in some states. Not sure about collapsible batons.
My point being, be careful to not assume that weapons are legal for carry, just because they aren't a gun. Restrictions are often a lot more wide spread than that.

And yes France is overrun by immigrants.
The sad thing is that the Nationalist party Front National won 25% of votes. Yet I know NO ONE who admits to voting FN, because they are afraid to be labeled as racist.
This is the mentality here.

Take the girl out of the equation entirely. Are these really the kind of cocksuckers you want running around your neighborhood, robbing and threatening innocent people with lethal weapons?
If it happened in front of me where I live I would've shot the knife-wielding pricks. This is the sort of bullshit street crime lowlifes engage in when they know there's only a slim chance they'll be killed doing it. The behavior just escalates until they finally murder someone.
When the danger involved in a particular kind of crime goes up criminals will switch to some other type of crime that is less hazardous to their health and socially disruptive. Which do you prefer? The occasional burglary when no one's home or home invasions? Armed robbery or credit card fraud?
It should be considered a civic duty to eliminate these sacks of shit from the community, because if they're allowed to flourish the whole damn place falls apart.
As for the kid, he was brave. Most people would've run off, which in isolation is a smart decision but when the streets are ceded to these scumbags everyone suffers.

Edelweiss is right: no guns, no weapons, no taser, nothing...
A jeweller was sent to jail for 7 years after preparing a trap for burglars , that he suspected would come to his shop. He killed with a weapon one of them; a youngster , 17 yo.

Actually it was a shop owner (selling tobacco, lottery tickets etc). But you get the point.
