I opened the mailbox to find an issue of Cosmo addressed to my GUY roommate. He is dating a girl 6 hrs away.. They spend 4+ hrs on the phone a day, so I guess he got it so they would have MORE stuff to talk about. I guess he wants to keep up with interesting things in her world.

I caught my friend enthusiastically baking a strawberry shortcake from scratch for his girlfriend. LOL

My cousins water got shut off and he came to my house with his girlfriend who waited in the car while he scrubbed the entire bathroom so she could come in and take a shower. Now this is my daughters bathroom thats very clean anyway.

This guy I worked with would phone his girlfriend/fiance every coffee break and tell her how much he misses her and that he loves her etc. EVERY DAY. A guy I lived with in first year (30 people on a floor) would try to pick up girls at bars by buying her and all of her friends drinks. Although he did succeed sometimes I'd have to keep a harpoon ready in case I ran into them in the bathroom. Another mistake all of my friends make is going "that girl is so fucking hot I wish I could fuck her" then I usually go and fuck the girl instead.

One employee of mine called his gf(whose child he was rearing) everyday at lunchtime and would talk to her for 15 minutes and at the end of conversation would say. " I certainly absolutely love you" in front of me. And after I asked him why the fuck would he say something like that. He said he is trying to convince her to marry him (which means his proposal has been rejected). To which I said "why the fuck would you want to get married?" Oh yah the woman has her tubes tied so she cannot give him any kids and is over 40.

A senior executive at my company telling me about a fine restaurant in our area and saying " You owe it to your wife to take her to ......." After I said I owe her nothing in a joking way....there was pin drop silence in the room.

A fellow employee working in HR, telling me brother who was about to get engaged all about diamonds rings and telling him it cost should be two months salary $ total. Then he follows up with another suggestion that to keep things fresh he buys his wife new ring every 3 years with same $ amount.

My college roomate....had one date with a sorority chick....and fell in love...a weeks passes and he made a birthday cake for her from scratch in my kitcken against my wishes....then drove up to her place ...she rejected his endeavour....and after he said he was going to leave it her at her door anyway....she took it and threw it in trash dumpster accessible from her balcony while he stared in shock......

My cousins fat and ugly wife makes him do all the cooking and cleaning, and footrubs too *shudders* He's planning on divorcing her thank God.

It is October so I guess this is the perfect time to tell these horror stories.

Guy gets abused by multiple women, engaged twice... loses the ring once... refuses to swallow the red pill, cheats on long distance fiance (finally), flies out to break up with her and can't do it... so they're on "hiatus." Pussy. I tried.

Man I know alot of beta dudes it ain't even funny, two of my "friends" in there 40's are dating women in there 50's and the women are ruling them.

Wrote one up recently. My mate had his brothers and a couple of mates round for pizza, beers and to watch the football. All the guests were having a good time while my mate...was ironing his girlfriend of two month's clothes.

My buddy who I met through game. He didn't have much experience when we met, but had more than me. We met 8 months ago. We went out a couple of times, some decent approaches. I'm 19, he is 21.

Today, he is in an LTR and is going to propose to her within the next month or two. Keep in mind, he did not know this girl when we met 8 months ago. He has been dating her for just over half a year. He pulled an entire 180 on our conversations of 'not even considering marriage until 30's.'

He is done school and has a well paying job and will do well for himself financially. Besides that.. I don't know. I have tried asking him things such as 'You should give it more time' 'Don't you think you are rushing things' but his replies are 'Trust me man I thought the same way months ago but now it's different. You will know once you meet the right girl.'

He's referred to her as 'the One.'

His advice to me is to look for more than one night stands and try to get some relationship experience with a girl that is compatible.

Contrast that advice with that of my regular buddies I go out with, who tell me 'Don't even consider relationship now, too young. Go for bangs and meet some cool girls to have fun with, without commitment.'

Not sure what to make of it. Still leaves my head spinning..

My brother is a super beta. No matter what I tell him, he doesnt listen. He honestly thinks he will be a bad boyfriend if he doesnt pick up his gf on time for a date. He gives her presents for her birthday, Valentines day, 4th of July, Christmas, etc... and he even has a "promise" ring. Hes so whooped and I feel for him because hes my brother. He thinks im a man-whore who will never find someone in my life. They are always constantly fighting too and see him crying like once a month due to relationship problems.

I got a 'super-beta' for a brother too. When I was 13, he tried the usual push me around b.s. that brothers do, and I threw him on the ground and told him never to touch me again. He was 16 at the time.

He left for college and his high school gf followed him. She broke it off with him and started dating another guy. She was probably a 4 and a 2 by her 30's. He's a solid 7 or even an 8. I caught him crying in the bathroom that summer and told him to man up and go date someone else. I was 16, he was 19.

He started to get super religious the next year in college. His next gf was a 2 at best. My friends nicknamed her "John Elway," which is about accurate. Keep in mind he is a solid 7. He married her the summer after he graduated college.

My parents had to bail him out of bad real estate deals twice. He now lives on his wife's family's farm in Northern PA. Converted to Catholicism from Protestant...probably at her suggestion. Has 6 kids with her (Catholics don't believe in birth control. I think he's the only one in America that took that one seriously).

Needless to say, we don't talk very much. This is horrible to say about your own brother, but if it came out that he molested one of his kids, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

My dad and younger brother are very much alpha. Guess he wasn't paying attention. I blame it on my mom's side of the family, which is very weak all around.

I really do wish this story was about a neighbor or a friend. It sucks that it's about my older brother.

I don't think talking on the phone a lot is inherently Beta. If she keeps talking about how much she loves him and wants to fuck him again during that time, why would that be bad? Of course, the presence of the Cosmo magazine probably negates this assumption, but still...

A few shameful examples:

- Not friends but here's one from a facebook contact I knew growing up...he just got married and posted this:

- Another random FB feed, from some girl I went to HS with that's a 5th grade teacher now. One of her students wrote her this as some sort of quote interpretation assignment:

"I don't think you're beautiful. I think you're beyond it. - Lil Wayne...I chose this quote not because I like him because it follows the 7 habits of happy kids. I think Miss _____ is beautiful and beyond it. For example, she is sweet and not mean. She lets us sit by who we want to at lunch. She doesn't give us piles of homework. She gives us projects like redecorating our school's bathroom. She lets us do all types of projects that are fun. It's not just about looks she has a very kind heart and doesn't do stuff badly. I love her."

So much wrong with this one I don't even know where to start. 5th grader whiteknight-in-training and being beta as fuck in our society is viewed as a kid just being "sweet and loving". The female worship has already been ingrained into this poor kid. His mom probably helped him with the idea and the writing (notice that mommy let a few mistakes fly so that it would look more genuine)...and the teacher not teaching but letting kids decorate...just insane.

Although I don't like to look at it this way, but what do you guys think will happen in the near future, with more and more betas stepping up than ever before? In the next 10-15 years, how will this affect our pursuit of women? Will competition be harder, or easier, due to us being 'alpha' and our competition being more 'beta'.

I dont understand how mothers can give such bad advice to their sons when it comes to women. They must know deep down that treating a women like a princess is the fastest way to the friend zone and a sexless life. Its like they are giving advice for a perfect society where good actions are rewarded and girls are not turned on by assholes.

I distinctly remember years ago well before I got into game watching the king of beta movies Love Actually with my mum (non US spelling) and her friends daughters. There is a scene were one of the guys expresses his true feelings to a girl he secretly loved via silent board messages on christmas eve.
   
My mum said to me doing that would melt any girls heart and would be the way to win a girl over. The daughters watching promptly agreed probably wishing some guy would do that to them.

even back then I somehow knew that doing something like that would simply not work in "winning over" a girl so thankfully I never tried it.
