A female first sergeant was just awarded an Army Commendation Medal(ARCOM) for snitching on things on the internet that "offended" her, and for getting the soldiers involved punished.

I think shit like this is a good indicator as to why the military has been LOSING to a bunch of a illiterate, butt-slamming, 18th century tribesmen. Being a former combat arms officer trust me when I say that the same mentality that led to this award does influence the decisions that the Army's so called "leaders"(many of whome are slimy, Eddy Haskell ish bureaucrats) make in combat situations.

I wouldn't expect a woman to understand anything about the military code of conduct, the band of brothers mentality where you stand with your fellow soldiers instead of being a snitch.

This is the kind of thing men understand instinctively. Your fellow soldiers are the ones who watch your back and protect your ass. No matter your differences, you are in this together, to fight as one.

This shit is what you can expect when you let women in the armed forces. God help us all when the next war starts.

Women should only have supporting roles in the military (at best). Nowhere near combat. Medicine/office work. That's it.

I always had a fantasy in the back of my mind, before I turned 30 and was too old, of joining a branch of the special forces, having never served, just to do something worthwhile. I'm in good shape, figured I would do masculine things, and would come out as a stronger person.

I don't have that fantasy anymore, but I realize how much of a joke it is in the military. What a bunch of fluffers.

A military that does this deserves to be defeated. Yea, I said it. Someone has to.

What bothers me particularly about he actions is the atmosphere that is now swamping active duty posts concerning soldiers and their families activities. There was a dress code against lewd attire being enforced. In the wider army, you're practically barred for laying a finger on another if you follow the assault and harassment rules to the tee. Cultural events like religious holidays are sanitized as much as possible, yet still often made a mandatory event.

What has this woman done for the soldiers aside from wear green?

She is the typical glory hog, corrupt 1st Sgt. that likely got her rank by kissing the right ass and scoring high on standardized requirements, regardless of her actual aptitude of being a good warrior. Her use of internet lingo and sjw slang is abhorrent for someone of her rank. I can only imagine how she spends her time neglecting soldier welfare.


Edit-This makes me furious. It's incredibly unethical to make individuals political views and social lives in their unaffiliated recreational time the center of attention in their career. It's much worse that this is being done in an organization designed to uphold and protect individual freedom.

Why won't it give a detailed description of the video or what website this took place on? Why was she investigating people on private organizational sites when it wasn't her occupation or place?

I could easily get her record, but would there would probably be legal implications to it. I'm willing to bet that she has no deployments or was deployed once(maybe twice) for a fobbit job. She made 1st Sgt. in under twenty years and her twitter connected blog has all the typical signs of a being an Jessica Valenti clone. I still can't believe someone like this made it this far as an enlisted person. I'm blown away

The only way her input would have been valid is if the men in question were breaching opsec / persec. Else she should go fuck herself with a Scotch Bonnet.

There is one thing I will say: I've worked with and for SF officers in the past and I've got nothing but the highest respect for them. The majority have a "no bullshit", task focused mindset that the rest of society could learn from.

Problem is that the only way to get to SF is to serve in the regular army for a few years and then audition for the job....which you may or may not get.

Not quite true, you can have it put into your enlistment contract to have an immediate chance to audition for the SF. At least I know this is true for the Rangers.

Not here. Keep in mind ranger's aren't SF although they do fall under the same command as SF(SOCOM). I've also worked with a bunch of them. While most are very masculine, a lot of them are also flaming, egotistical douchenozzles.

SF you do NOT get into right away(with one single exception I know of, who had extensive military training prior to enlisting). You have to be either an E5, or a lieutenant who commissioned in the right year, to even apply to apply. Then MAYBE they'll let you go to SFAS, and only a small minority of those candidates go on to the Qualification course...and not all of those pass.

You often have to have a combat deployment on your record to qualify.
