If the world was right with itself, this dude would complain about her appearance and make it clear he wasn't interested in her. He would put her in the friends zone immediately and just be polite for the sake of the publication. But this is not what happens.

This is truly sad. One time, not too long ago, a friend invited me to a happy hour at a bar in Arlington (Clarendon). I walk in and I see all these young late 20s folk wearing name tags. I'm thinking wth did my friend invite me to? Coincidentally, there was a speed dating event (which my friend was not part of) which participants learned of through livingsocial (they actually paid to attend). The girls in there were no higher than a 6, most were 4's. The guys could have done WAY better than these chicks, some were actually sharp and otherwise cool-looking guys, but they were obviously true betas at heart. The ratio was so advantageous to the girls, that they could afford to act like 8s and 9s. I went on a rant about the whole situation, and some girls even came over and spent most of the time talking to me and my friend. Of course, we paid them no mind since they weren't on our level. We did all the talking. Even better, a trio of chicks that had no relation to the event were better looking and talked to us.

If only those cats knew about communities like this forum....I feel sorry for guys in DC. Lots of them would kill in other cities. They just don't know....

I read my post again and I feel that it was harsh, because I seem to be suggesting that undesirable women should not have choice in the dating market and should stay out of the way to not disturb the efforts of men to land their potential, but when you have betas who will willingly go after a girl like above, while sober, then it's obvious that there is no easy solution. Women will only exert the amount of power and choice that men let them, so in that respect the male gender has failed.

Hmmm, if DC had so many betas, then someone with game should be able to beat the competition easily, but that's not the case. Take the average DC guy and throw him in NYC. If he swims, then he's not really that beta if the city is just shit.

Why would they bother? Beta boy will pay anyway- and it dosen't take much to impress him- not that it matters what he thinks anyway- since he's a borderline loser. Not worth bragging about, but not big enough of a loser for her to be embarassed being seen in public with. She'll let him buy her a free meal then laugh about it after.

Which makes me think these chicks are more interested in having a picture perfect wedding and living out some fairy tale narrative than having a relationship. Even though they will only wear those stilettos once a year, it would ruin the whole *image* if she was taller than him.

I had a cute friend who was short, maybe 5'2," and her boyfriend was 5'4." What did she do? She stopped buying and wearing heels. I may have heard gripe about it once in passing, but it clearly wasn't a big deal for her. And this girl was way cuter than the girl in my story.

Nah he just is someone who lived in urban, middle class setting from birth-- emphasis on school; no athletics outside, no beaches, too much studying. He probably doesn't even realize how fat she is. It looks like he's Jewish, and the culture generally places much more emphasis on education and achievement than athletics.
