Me and some friends are going down for springbreak.

The place is great for college kids, but watch out for undercover cops if you are underage. Make sure to use plenty of sunscreen on the first day and don't forget to bring a beer cooler. The Coca Cola beach is pretty nasty, so if you like to lay in the sand expect cigarette butts and empty cans on every square foot. They clean it up at night though.

Typically, everyone is on the beach during the day, go out to dinner (seafood is incredible there), and then party at the bar. Everyone is drinking the entire day, so pace yourself.

Check MTV schedule to catch your favorite performers, they play on the beach during the day. I would not recommend going there during the middle of TX spring break, I hear its too crowded and there are fights everywhere. I went last year and only caught the last few days of it, but trust me, the beach is plenty packed, mostly with college kids from the same geographical area as you (same spring break schedule).

If you want to get get rid of your approach anxiety, this is absolutely the place to do it. You can literally open 100 sets every day. Don't go for the number though, this place is an attention whore's paradise. You can literally watch them social butterfly through the crowd. Which brings me to my next point, don't bring your iPhone to the beach and definitely don't put it in the cooler hoping that the ziplock will save you, Apple does not cover water damage Have hot girls sign your belly with a sharpie or something, that's the way to stand out. By the way, all the dudes are ripped and all the girls are wearing tiny bikinis.

If you hit it off with a girl, go for the makeout or SNL. Logistics are HUGE over there. You might think the beach would be empty, so you can fuck under the stars. Hell no, its packed with weirdos walking around there at 4AM and one might even lay 20 feet away from you. Nobody comes to Padre alone and they sure as hell don't have one bedroom hotel rooms, so her place is out of the question. Make sure you and your buddies got your place all figured out. Your car is also a viable option, but don't leave your buddies stranded I would recommend the hotels right next to the beach, they are really ghetto and tiny, but they are within walking distance from all the action and that could be a deal breaker.

Also, I would recommend driving there, but I'm a road-trip junkie. If you do have a car, you could take a day trip to San Antonio, which is beautiful. It has the river walk, the historic Alamo place, and nice (but expensive) restaurants. On the way there, stop by Austin. It's a really cool town with tons of live music. If you can, spend the night there.

Warning: when leaving Padre you have to cross "border patrol", where they ask you if you are an american citizen. They may look through your car and "detain" your foreign friends who did not bring their "papers". If you are an american, your driver's license and no accent is all you need. If you are foreign, bring your passport, visa, and signed I-20. Otherwise, they yell at you for half an hour and put you on the bench with drug smugglers and illegal immigrants awaiting deportation while they pull you up on the computer.

Never been during spring break but I have some family out there. My cousin was telling me that they always rent a beach house and offered to game me on spring break whenever I make it out there. Have fun playa and snap plenty of pictures
