Travel Question

Hey guys, wanted to get some insight on something:

What do you do to enter a country that requires a visa (say China) but your country does not have international relations with said country?

I'm not really a very experienced traveller so I don't know what needs to be done.

Thanks in advance.

Usually in these situations the home country has another country handle their affairs. For example Iran and the United States have broken of relations, and so the Swiss handle that kind of stuff for us in Iran. To apply for a visa to get into Iran, I think you need to visit the Pakastani embissary.

Your situation is most likely handled in a similar manner, what is your home country?

Travel Question

My home country is Honduras. Following your example, I figure I would have to do this by Costa Rica means. Do I need to have some sort of citizenship from Costa Rica or anything of the sort?

Ok I admit this had been a bit stumped, so I did some research. First it seems for some weird reason Honduras chooses to maintain a relationship with Taiwan instead of mainland China at least in an official capacity. This kind of serves as a big red flag for me because is mainland China still considers Taiwan just a wayward province, and really doesn't like anyone saying otherwise.

Eventually I came across a rather useful site.

HERE

Now this tells me that as a Honduran citizen you can get into China with a visa. The problem is I will be damned if I can't find the visa requirements, and trust me I looked all over.

My best guess would be to check the official government website for Honduras, I can't read Spanish so it was a bit of a bust for me. Sorry I couldn't find you anymore details, maybe someone else on the forum would have better luck.

Yes I feared the relationship with Taiwan wouldn't make things easier.

Thanks for your help, I will start looking for the info on the visa requirements. More help is very much appreciated!
