I know this had been discussed a few times on here in other threads. I just wanted to get a few opinions on what you guys think about this.

So my idea is, start a website with young, beautiful dominican girls who are willing to get married to foreign men in order to leave the country and charge a huge commision fee. Most these girls have never traveled more then an hour by car..

I want it to be upscale.

Offer high quality services such as translating for the foreign guy on the first meet-up.
STD checks for the girls.
Good Quality pictures of the girls on the website etc..

Regardless of his business idea, there is no reason for people to not go to the DR just because you got took by a pregnancy scam. I've been to Thailand, shit like this happens every day. A lot of companies in the DR (and in several other Latin, European, and SE Asian countries) are doing what you plan on doing. The competition is EXTREMELY STIFF.

The things that you say would set you apart really aren't enough. Your access to women isn't that big of a deal, since there is an almost unlimited supply (for all practical purposes) of hot Dominican women who want to marry a gringo and move to the US.

Remember, the problem is not finding the women, they are in abundance. The problem is finding the MEN. What sets you apart to the MEN who will be paying you? To be more specific, how can you set yourself apart by just your website, to the extent that a man will part with his money and chose YOUR COMPANY in the Dominican Republic over the HUNDREDS of other companies and affiliates with women all over the world?

Another issue is your selection of women. Yes, Dominicanas are hot and bangable. However, to the majority of your clientele, they are not the hottest women available. We are talking about marriage here. The VAST majority of people interested in this are middle aged to older white men. Campo chicas tend to be light brown to black. If that was all some 50 year old guy could get, I am sure he would be ecstatic to have a 20 year old brown skinned beauty who dropped out of the 8th grade.

However, that is not the case. Now, guys can select those light to white Colombianas and Costa Rican Ticas, or those white, college educated, Ukranian and Russian women. I am certainly not saying that no one likes darker, big booty, Dominicanas (I certainly do). I am just saying that you are offering a product with a much smaller market appeal.

So, essentially, you are going into an industry with a high number of competitors throughout the world, some of whom have been operating for 10+ years, in a market that is already small, and coming in with a product that has even smaller appeal.

IMHO, this is NOT some million dollar idea. In fact, you stand a good chance of losing money. Personally, you would be better off setting up an online business that you can operate from ANYWHERE in the world, and THEN moving to the DR if you want.

Think about. Having spent some time there, how much do you think you would need annually to be swimming in pussy and have the life you want. When I did the math, it came to just $30K. You can EASILY build a business that generates that per month, especially if you build it while you are in college.

I know it sounds like I am raining on your parade now, but I just want to give you good info. I had the EXACT SAME DESIRE in the Dominican Republic several years ago. In fact, it was sitting in a bar in Peurto Plata, enjoying the life down there, that led me to quit my job and go out on my own to develop a truly location independent lifestyle.

the $30K number is only for developing countries with an abundance of women. I came up with the number while in the Dominican Republic, but it holds true in Costa Rica, and to a lesser extent in Colombia.

Essentially, that was the number I came up with to live the lifestyle of a single male at US/Canadian standards while in one of these countries. So this would include:

1 bedroom apartment (American standards, no shacks)

Utilities

High Speed Internet/Telephone/Cable

Preferably housekeeping that comes by one or more times a week.

Able to eat well. I can cook GOOD meals, and go out to restaurants multiple times a week. Local restaurants are fine. I don't have to rely on beans and rice because I am too broke to afford anything else.

Money to hit the bars/clubs multiple times per week.

Able to move about the city via preferred method of transport I am a walking and Taxi guy. I don't drive in Latin America, and I rarely take buses (except if I was going between cities). However, I will take the metro in Medellin and the occasional motochoche in the Dominican Republic.

Money to return to the U.S. when I want to.

These are basically loose numbers. I know a guy that is living a decent life in Costa Rica on $1,500 per month social security. It was just a number to keep in mind when I made my work and travel decisions.

The saddest thing in the world is seeing a broke gringo in one of these countries. I have seen American guys who have become so destitute because of poor planning an money management that they are out everyday trying to hustle enough to by the $1.50 Tico breakfast that consists of beans, rice, a piece of spam (that is what it taste like), and egg, and a cup of coffee. It is tasty once, but I would vomit if I had to eat that EVERY DAY. Why they don't just give it up and head back to the US, I have no idea.

Sly, I like your idea and I think it has potential.

Things to keep in mind:
-Since most these girls do not have Internet, you will need to do a lot of the work for them.
-You will need to setup an office to take their pictures, create their profiles, help them get their messages, and translate from English.
-The office will need to be open nearly everyday because there will be a constant stream of messages and girls.
-You will have to translate the girls' messages into English.
-Finding the girls is easy, finding the guys is a lot harder.

You can get around the translation part if you write some code to automatically translate the messages with a machine translator. The messages will come out crap often but it can take a lot of the work out of the equation.

-Make your site completely free.
-Have a lots of information about DR and make it more than a dating site.

-Kick backs at restaurants, bars, and clubs for bring gringo suckers in.
-Currency conversions at mediocre rates. (make 10% to 20% on the conversion)
-If the guy fails with your girls, you can hook him up with the local "talent" and get a nice fat referral fee.
-Anything you can possibly imagine to get the cash.
