Gaming at The Olympics in London

A friend and I are going to the Olympics in London in August. I don't know if anybody has any experience gaming in situations like these. But does anybody have any thoughts on what works?

I don't see what is different from any other place. granted i've never been, so there might be some weird dynamic that I am unaware of, but it sounds like you are putting it on a pedastal.

I had a friend that was down in Sydney when the games were there. It can be a great experience, especially for guys that like to travel and game all over the world. In this case, a little piece of each part of the world descends onto one city. He said each country held down a bar/pub, and you could get a little slice of each country. Instead of traveling all over the world to try to flag, you have a sampling of each right there in one city.

Richie, I can understand if you're a resident of the host city you might want to bail. It's a good money-making opportunity to boot. In Rio in 2001, me and three friends got an apartment in Ipanema from a guy dirt cheap that way. Just the same, for a traveler/gamer, big events present a different kind of atmosphere and opportunity to do your thing.

I might spend a bit of time there. Haven't given much thought to strategy, I was thinking of just proceeding as normal but taking advantage of the higher tourist to local ratio.

I've heard the olympic village is a fuckfest, but not sure how to partake.

I find huge tourist events complicated gaming grounds. Its like a cat amongst the pigeons. The same problem occurs at festivals and generally speaking... big cities. Too many people with schedules makes for poor opportunity to meet and bang women. Also I cant imagine the type of girls that are visiting the games are going to be the sort of girls I am interested in. I am thinking its going to be more families, couples and Lesbians than hot girls looking to party.

Yeah athletes villages are total fuckfests,I've heard that from a lot of sources.

What I would do: get a tracksuit from a not very well known nation,say Kyrgyzstan,and walk around the Olympic park and central London in it. It's a massive DHV if it says something like "Kyrgyzstan Judo Team" on the back of it and chicks will want to take your picture or meet you and ask you questions. Obviously you need to be able to blag to pull it off. You can buy these tracksuits at games off of the athletes and coaches or in advance in the countries itself. I've been to a lot of international sporting events in my time and women always get horny at them. Another thing is to try and somehow get a pass into the athletes village,I think with security measures that would be virtually impossible but worth a try for the crack to be had inside.

Maybe we should form a crack team of Olympic bangers and get some sports gear on and head up there for it.

First mentioned to me by a friend who was a professional athlete. He was in the running to compete in the Olympics.

100,000 condoms! Lol... I dont buy it. These people are here to win medals not Flags. Also they are talking about Olympic village in Vancouver, not London... Not that that should make any difference? The only thing you will find in East London is high security and Hipster raves.

If anyone has been to such an event Im all ears as to why you think I should stay? I am slap bang in the middle of all the action after all. Could'nt get a ticket mind. I only wanted to see the womens volleyball [Image: tongue.gif]

Point is it's the same in every Olympic village. Once they're done competing they let their hair down and the fucking commences.

Now getting into the Olympic village in the first place, that's the tricky part.

You need to be a volunteer to get into the village compound. Had a friend who was a volunteer in the Sydney Olympics and his pass got him into the village. They usually have all the volunteers sorted well in advance but you can always try ringing them up and seeing if they need any volunteers if you are deadset on getting into the village.[/align]

Thanks for the tip. Deadline is out, but looks like it's done through charities, maybe there's an in there.

I recommend calling yourself Borat as that will work really well with the Kazakstan tracksuit [Image: wink.gif]

I'm def gonna be around for the Olmypic siege! Trying to devise a medals tally of sorts while the games are on. Thinking....

Gold = Notch obviously
Silver = Blowie or Handy
Bronze = Makeout

Then just add the countries in like events. Eg I got 2 team GB Bronze and a gold. 1 Swedish silver. 2 Aussie bronze etc
Let the games begin!

PS I'm very aware that this is a bit silly, but its just harmless fun.

Headed to London the 2nd to last weekend of the Olympics. There's upwards of 5M tourists on top of the 7M that already live there. Gotta be something to get into **rubs hands**

While I don't have any personal olympic village experience, I'm guessing the regular "charming, goodlooking, fit guy" game would hardly work as we can't compete with world class athletes in those areas. Perhaps you could bring in a businessman angle, and project yourself as someone looking for models for ad campaigns?
