I think some of you are being a little harsh on the young guys. None of the ones here have crossed the line in trying to trump an elder. They have been patient students, that while lacking in experience, compensate in sharpness of thought. When I think of how I was around 20, it's apparent to me that Athlone, Pdog, and blurb have talents that will serve us all sooner than later.

Even when I was 22, writing about game after being in it for less than a year, other guys got value from my ideas. While I will take the advice of guys like G, Harry, Mixx, and Mike more seriously because we are close in age, that doesn't mean I would ignore the younger guys whose thoughts still fit into my world view.

The last thing this forum needs is an old guys vs young guys rift.

Ive seen add-ons to these UBB forums that will show the general region or city where a posters IP is from without giving away too much info. I'm sure Roosh could easily integrate it into the site.

Wow, I can't believe Dash is gone. He had many flaws(his attention whoring, know it all, hyping places he has never been to). However, he gained my respect when he honestly admitted that he was wrong about Korea. He could've taken the easy way out and be lying on his dick in order to save face but he didn't.

Yup, same here. Also, I had doubts as to Dash's trip to El Salvador but let it lie.

I am curious about what doubts you had? You didn't think he made the trip at all?

He admitted to being bitch slapped for hours on end by little Korean kids for days and days on here?

I do miss Dash too. Even though at times, it appeared that he was full of it, he seemed earnest in his attempts and I can always give kudos to someone who tries. I will always give props to a person who attempts to travel and find something new, even if they have a crummy foundation to begin with.

You don't know the amount of peeps I know that have never travelled and never venture on new knowledge but sit in their safety bubble and when they do venture out, go straight for a all contained 'holiday resort' and put that on their list of countries that they have visited.

So whenever a cat tries to make moves, even if he fcuks up, it's better he fails than those who don't do shyt and yet are quick to criticise.

The best thing with a cat like that as mentioned by a previous poster, is you take him with a pinch of salt.

If he goes on about something that you have an authority of knowledge on, just stay mum and let him burn out.

I deal with him the same way I would if Mike Tyson started talking about programming in Cobol, I'd smile gently and stop contributing to that convo (since Mike has never completed a course in Cobol programming).

Everyone in here is a 'Dash' to somebody else. We just may not know it [Image: smile.gif]

Action against Dash Global

I'm coming a little late to this discussion since I didn't have any direct problems with Dash and I don't hang out in the Travel forum as much as I probably should. My two cents:

1. Dash Global may have the dubious distinction of being the most successful troll in RVF history. He may have been so subtle and good that he survived undetected for years.

2. I don't know if it's practical, but I like the idea of a banned members thread. Most bans are obvious trolls and useless newbs, but there have been some longer-standing members who suddenly disappear and raise questions. It might be worth having a thread where you say so-and-so got banned because he did this-and-that. Of course, that may cause others problems like people disputing bans and dog-piling. Worth a thought, though.

3. I don't think there's any way to insulate the forum against fraudsters (i.e., listing age, countries visited). People lie on the Internet. There's a probably, at any given time, a certain number of fiction trolls lurking about. That's simply the nature of the beast. I could be a woman who contributes to Jezebel. Mechanico could be a 17-year-old nerd who's still a virgin. Athlone McGinnis could be an FBI agent keeping tabs on the forum. The reason we know that isn't the case is through hundreds of verified posts and insights. Responsible self policing is important. Guys need to do the work of calling guys out after a pattern of bullshit. Evidence is especially important when someone is more than a simple newb, I think. Two examples of this are G-man's excellent work on calling out Dash and, perhaps on a smaller scale, my calling out of the Sparrior troll.

At the same time, I think, we have to be careful not to call people out on smallest thing. Troll accusations and witch hunting isn't something we want to degenerate into.

Just my opinions, anyway.

Was the funniest thing I have read in a while.

However, when you are talking about things like most successful troll in RVF history, it always reminds me of bigbootyluver's glorious implosion.

I seriously considered giving Dash a negative rep point for a long time, but since he had twice as many positive rep points as me, I thought forum "politics" might get in the way.

For me, he was just kind of ignorant and annoying, I personally thought his views and beliefs on politics, religion, abortion, and social issues were retarded. Also I questioned some of the stuff he wrote about, like having "semi-pros" spend the night with him for free, then cook him breakfast in the morning and pamper him like they were his GF.

However, I am surprised he was banned, although he was one of my least favorite of the consistent posters, I'm not sure if he deserved an outright banning, perhaps some negative rep points and a more stern public warning.

It seems like most people on this forum want him gone, but I think it would be a cool idea if Roosh let us take a vote (anyone with at least 1 rep point), to see if we want to allow Dash to be reinstated. I have a feeling most of us would vote it down, but he does have a few supporters, and it would be the first of it's kind on this forum, plus the guy spends more time here than 90% of us, so I'm sure it means a lot to him.

I second the ban-reason thread, sometimes I hear 'x' got banned and seemed like a cool dude, and I never knew what really happened.

I support the ban as well. Gringo called him out properly in the thread on Peru and since then he repeatedly spouted forth-party info as fact when guys needed real intel. He did respond to my latest thread in minutes, but I cannot rely on his info. Plus its frustrating when a good thread is started and within minutes its ruined by 6 nonsense posts by Dash. I had been wondering for a while why Roosh was letting him stay. I guess the unwarranted rep points/post count probably made him reconsider or give extra leeway.

PLUS you could see that he was REALLY trying to emulate MIXX in A LOT of his posts, with the CAPS emphasis almost exactly how MIXX does his. He was trying to come across as an authority on a range of topics which is the last thing this board needs. Guys like MIXX are THE authority, especially on Colombia, so it makes sense for him but not a rookie. Didn't you notice this MIXX?

The board is a better place now. Hopefully more guys will PM Roosh in the future and push for the ban prior to 3,000 posts. No disrespect Roosh.

I also support posting the age, as anyone worth respecting like PDog will post his age and we can have a better perspective on his opinion. Anyone that makes up a fake age will be figured out soon enough plus no ones posts, including myself, needs to be taken as fact prior to proving themselves. Dropping my first datasheet on Mexico City next week.

Seems Dash hasn't been banned quite yet. Although it's obvious Dash could contribute better and tone it down a bit, I'd be in favor of letting him stay on the board if we hear from him. Maybe he's not too proud to admit some wrongdoing and commit to better posts. The guy didn't seem like a bad guy to me, but I understand Roosh and the board's issues with him.

C'mon, G, you're demoting the thread. The Bigbootyluvr Meltdown of 2011 was so epic that it's not only one of the top threads on the entire board, it's become our very own meme. The term "Bigbootyluvr" has become interchangeable with a massive, public eruption of Internet roid rage. If I were to tell a member "you're acting like Bigbootyluvr," he'd be offended. If you were to report a member as being "Bigbootyluvr-like," he'd get banned (or at least officially warned).

Even Dash's banning was done on BBL grounds:

I think Roosh should lift his posting ban so he could defend himself, apologize, tell us to fuck off or say his peace on this thread. He had rep so he helped people enough for that at some point.

Edit: To late. The ban is in effect so I guess we have to wait a couple weeks to see who he reappears as. He will be back!

Dash talked so much shit it was unreal, I'm surprised he didn't get called out earlier.

I ignored his breeze. Firstly he talked about going to a renowned hooker bar in Cartagena called Elektra and said he didn't have to pay for pros..something along the lines of 'if you're young and good looking they like you.' Good one!

Then he drops datasheets on Colombia...seemingly innocent.

Months later he writes a thread about his first Colombian bang he got a few days prior on American soil...hmmmmm...

His lack of punctuation and grammar was terrible, I'm surprised he could teach English for a living.

I was hoping Dash would give us a "bigbootylover" type of meltdown. That shit is great entertainment. Everyone loves watching a "trainwreck". Its like reality TV except on a forum.

But, I'm sure Roosh doesn't want to "sell out" his forum like that for some cheap entertainment.

I can attest to the fact the fact that El Mechanico IS NOT a 17 year old nerd who's still a virgin, far from it! LOL

How about making members "certified real"? I don't know how to go about it, but I met EM and have been to his work place and house, I also met Gameoflife in Bogota and will likely meet other forum members in Colombia in the next few weeks.

Any way to verify that RooshV members have actually met one another and can say that we're "The real deal"? I'm down for that!

Dash is a clown. I felt like people were down with him for a little bit and I noticed before he started getting rep points he didn't act as much of a fool. Like other people have mentioned his view on politics and social issues are beyond retarded.
Also I noticed at times he tried to act like an authority figure demanding people to bust out data sheets or insulting someones data sheet. Also his grammar was horrendous, he is one of those ignoramuses that thinks if you can speak English you can teach it. You could tell he is a wack dude in real life that you would never want to kick it with.

I have mix feelings about Dash. While he was annoying as hell when he would go on and on about places he had never been and making sweeping generalisation, which were totally off. However, I found him entertaining and liked the way he would be always on the move. But all in all, what brought him down was his stubborness in continuing to make ignorant comments about places and stuffs he had little to no clue about. If you're reading this Dash, I hope you learn from your mistakes, wherever and whatever they may be...

Certifying real members is a great suggestion Scotian. I've also met a few Rooshians, some in Boretown, and very briefly YMG in BKK. There are some truly solid guys in here and I'm looking forward to meeting some of them in the up coming months around the world.

Certifying members you have met in person is difficult on a global board. Outside of the U.S there are few members from any one city, state or province. Places like California, D.C, Florida, Texas, New York and Ontario have enough members to do that. Australia has almost 23 million people, the only regular Aussie posters I know besides myself are HH and T & A Man and we all live over 1000 km+ apart from each other.

P Dog, you're right, it is difficult, but not impossible. This is indeed a global forum! I may be in your neck of the woods in the next year or so! I think that we should try to organize some kind of RooshV forum get together in Montreal, summer 2012, anyone else down?

I seriously think that honesty is the best policy guys, I can't stand bullshitters, this forum does a good job at sniffing them out!

The worst thing about a poster like Dash is that the he posted so much second-hand knowledge and info about places that he claimed to have only been in for a day, such as Barranquilla (I even have my doubts about that!).

This becomes especially shitty to a guy like me who is currently traveling in Colombia and am considering going to Barranquilla for the upcoming Carnaval in February. I look to this forum for info and read posts by Dash, a senior forum member here and get mixed messages and potentially bad info! As others members have stated, this takes away from the integrity of the forum!

The info on the most recent Barranquilla thread has been pure gold, thanks guys!
