Valencia / Ibiza, Spain

Ok, as most people in Madrid seem to have headed for the coast in August, that's what I am going to do.

Am going to Valencia tomorrow (Monday). I know there is a beach there but don't really know much else about Valencia. Anybody have any tips? Bars? Clubs?

I am probably going to jump on a ferry out to the islands after a few days. Again any tips? Never been. Think I will check out Ibiza. I hear Majorca is nice too.

Just go to the beach in Valencia.

You will see insanely beautiful topless girls.

That is really all you need.

Ask them about the bars and clubs.

When I was in Madrid, there were two friends of mine making erasmus in Valencia, so I went to visit them a lot. The city sucks. The only thing worth in Valencia are "Las Fallas" an event that happens in March, that gathers all people from Spain. One of my friends left Valencia, before finishing erasmus. It doesn´t even seem like a spanish city.
The beaches of the town of Valencia are shit, because they are near harbours.
I would not advise staying in that city more than two days (unless it´s Las Fallas), Ibiza in the other hand, although expensive, it´s probably packing.
I was in Ibiza 9 years ago, and it was in September. I remenber the food buffet in the hotel and being in the local bus, and sudennly the driver started to pump the volume and turned on neon lights.
Ibiza is divided by areas. There´s an area where drunk british girls go, called San Antonio there´s also large speakers on that beach. The town of Ibiza, called Eivissa is where there´s more quality girls, although there´s also a strong gay scene. If you go by ferry arriving to the harbour it´s a magnificent view.
Clubs are insanely expensive like 40 euros an entrance. The trick is that normally all clubs are full and will ask you 20 euros, but there´s some with top Dj´s playing. Just go to the cheap ones, they will be full of hot babes also.
Never been in Majorca, but I heard good things about it, specially Magalouf.
Ferries are easy to found just google "ferries Ibiza".

Some friends of mine left today to Croatia and I have to stay working in an empty city. FUCKKKk

Theres 2 main areas on Ibiza. Ibiza City, and San Antonio. Ibiza City was mostly full of Spaniards. The girls were hot, and of all ages, young and middle aged. Its harder to hit on the Spaniards. They are often with a lot of people they know, and oless open to meeting strangers. Also the girls (and guys) seem to really be into the music, rather than trying to hook up.

San Antonio is full of (drunk) college aged Brits and some other foreigners. Much easier to get laid here. Somewhat lower quality chicks, but there were plenty of hot chicks too.

Overall I say spend more time in San Antonio.
Ibiza is supposedly on of the "hottest" party spots in the world. But I definitely had more fun in South America.

You also might want to check out Alicante.

Details? I'm thinking of a spain-centric euro tour next year. I'd definitely value the info of someone who's been there, done that.

Tons of fly topless girls in Alicante in summer time.

It has been a number of years since I was last there.

This statement is pretty much ridiculous. I studied abroad in Valencia for five months and had the best time. All the beaches are NOT on ports. Two great neighborhoods to visit are Barrio Del Carmen (lots of young people, also known for people coming up to you to sell drugs, lots of small lounges and bars, and a few larger lounge/club type places) and Zona De Canovas (a long and major road/artery in Valencia, with all the best clubs and bars on it).

If you have more questions/need more advice about VLC, PM me.

Dude instead only saying that the statement is ridiculous, you should have said wich beaches are not on ports, for others to know where to go next time in Valencia. As for Carmen and Canovas, they are nothing special, except in Las Fallas. Again you could have posted some bar names.
From what I remenber those places have almost zero nightlife during weekdays, I didn´t wait till the weekend, me and my buddies left at 05 am to Barcelona.
I can honestly say that all the people that I know don´t like Valencia, except in Las Fallas, but it also depends on where you come from.

It´s not that it´s an incredible ugly city, but it´s the kind of place that you forget after being there and when your in spain you have a lot better places to be like Barcelona, Sevilla, Granada, etc, etc.
I continue saying that two days are enough to visit this city, specially in summer and you´re heading for Ibiza.

Me this is my normal weekend beach in Lisbon:
