Advice on Marketing a Couple of Unusual Items

I just thought that some of the creative minds on this forum could help me brainstorm ideas to effectively market a couple items outside my areas of expertise. Here they are, and here is my plan:

1. Painting of a pair of boxing gloves done by Joe Louis. I recently had it professionally restored after it sat in the basement of one of my parent's homes for decades. It has been authenticated, and to my knowledge is the only surviving example of a painting done by him.

My idea: Lend it to a museum for an exhibit (with a first preference for the Smithsonian which has Joe Louis items in its collection), which would give it exposure and credibility. After the exhibit, arrange for it to be included in a sports auction by a second tier New York auction house (sothebys and christies don't really do sports).

2. One motherfucking big ass carved wood fish from England. About 30 years ago one of my uncles got this as a gift for my Dad. It is about 15 feet long, and must weigh 300+ lbs.

My idea: A bit lost on this one. Was thinking of calling nice seafood restaurants in New York/Boston. Idea? I honestly don't know if its worth 1000 or 10000, I just want to get rid of it before I give in to my temptation to haul it out to my back yard and see what a 12 gauge browning shotgun with deer slugs will do to it.
