Is it a legit excuse for a guy to blame his environment for his lack of success?

Being in a bad environment didn't really improve my game at all, it fucked it up because it messed with my confidence, I had to lower my standards big time to get my skin, it sucked!

Like Too Short said "you gotta get in where you fit in", I was in a place where I didn't always fit in, a place where the two first questions a girl will ask you is "where/what do you do for work" (to judge how much she thinks you earn) and "what kind of truck do you drive" (not car, truck lol).

I'd rather be in a place where a girl asks questions like: whats the last book you read, where have you traveled, do you speak any other languages, etc

Conneray, I think you're just gonna have to take your cuz to a whore house and get him laid, do they have them in Georgia? Just to show him thats it not that big of a deal, it may seem a bit odd, but I know people who've lost their v-cards to hookers/escorts, hell Pilgram37 did and he seems to have turned out just fine!

Damn I'm glad I was raised in the time (mid/late 90's, pre social network internet days) and environment I was raised in by parents who weren't over protective conservative wankers and I was able to get my skin at a decent age, gotta feel sorry for kids these days eh?

I was thinking about this some more, and environment is HUGE, it really is, and not just for gaming women.

Being among people who are different than you and the culture you grew up around WILL change the way you think, act, talk, dress, vote, etc. Anyone who has lived in a place that is culturally different than where they grew up will know what I"m talking about. It happened to me when I lived in France and Quebec (I changed in good ways) and it happened again since I moved to Alberta Canada 5 years ago (I changed in bad ways).

So, I'd suggest you convince your cousin to get the fuck outta there, start fresh somewhere new and stop going on the net all day trying to get a bunch of strangers to validate him!

Why do you need an excuse? To whom are you excusing yourself?

Just be realistic about things and honest with yourself. Don't make excuses, neither to yourself or others.

Sure some environments are sucky. You should be able to see how an environment is affecting your results. This becomes easier the more experience you gain in different environments.

This is a fairly important issue that isn't only a matter of telling someone to get their ass in the gym or approach more. Your environment definitely DOES limit you. Often times the best thing you can do is put yourself in a position to move and never look back.

Think about what most of the USA is like: a bunch of suburban homes where the only places to go outside of your job or school are strip malls, McDonald's, Wal-Mart, etc. The only "night life" in a lot of these places is driving 10 or 15 miles to the one or two bars nearby, which becomes a huge liability for getting a DUI. It's literally a matter of going to work or school, then crashing in front of the TV for most Americans.

Pretty much all of the attractive females who haven't become single mothers are going to go off to college somewhere else or move to a bigger city. I remember in the area I grew up, if you saw an attractive female in a night venue, she was literally surrounded by like 3 or 4 dudes because it was so rare. No amount of game is going to overcome that logistical battle.

The bottom line is that if you live in bumfuck USA and aren't looking to settle down with a single mother and raise some other dude's kid (or at best get married to an average Americunt who will divorce you in a few years) you need to leave. There really isn't any other long term solution for a guy who wants to consistently pull high quality ass. Most of the USA simply does not offer the opportunities.

You definitely have some environmental bias there. Trust me when I say that if you had been raised outside of one of the better metro areas in the country you would have little motivation to do much except move out. Why do you think so many of the guys who come on this forum from D.C. are trying to move or spend lots of time abroad? You can be rich with a ripped physique, but if the women around you suck and you have absolutely no motivation to game them or improve yourself because they're unattractive and have terrible personalities, then none of that matters in terms of pulling women. Make no mistake - your environment has a huge influence on every facet of your life.

ya, anyways

have any of you dealt with being bullied? my cousin says he was often singled out and verbally bullied in high school, his school did not have sports or anything and he wasn't assaulted often but kids often made fun of him and such and viewed him as inferior, says many would not let him play basketball with them when they played pick up games

How was Alberta bad?

Alberta is a great place for certain people and it has been awesome for me in terms of career advancement and making money, however, its all about money there. The people there work a lot and value material possessions over other things, I find that theres a lot of keeping up with the jonses' there, just like many places in NA. I was actually happier when I was a broke ass uni student back in Halifax than I am working my bag off in Alberta!

If environment doesn't matter, why don't men go to India or Saudi Arabia to get laid?

The environment is king.

I'm in LA, one of the so called cool cities.

I've recently moved from the ritzy part to the semi-ghetto part of town.

Which for me means:
-Less of my favorite kind of girls looks wise (white, blonde girls)
-Active to decent nightlife is 40-1 hr away by bus. You need a damn car in this town, but I traded mine for a bus pass.
-Places to go for nice, cheap, and chill dates are few and far between.
-I have to watch my back more often on the main streets when I walk at night

I'm not necessarily in despair because:
-there's more to explore
-even if things are shitty, I'm bleeding (per Roosh) and learning
-it's gonna be a test of my creativity and I consider myself creative (not just artistically)
-LA is day game city (my opinion of course)

I have been fortunate enough to be raised in Southern California, I consider it a true blessing. Beautiful women here are in abundance and with decent game and decent looks, you can pull. There is so much to do here, so much to keep me healthy, and overall SO MUCH to keep me occupied and not waste too much time online.

For the past 2 weeks or so I went to go visit my cousin in Georgia. He does not live in Atlanta, in fact he lives in a small city there, where there isn't much to do at all. Saw the place and I have to say it is a mess, here is what I noticed:

1. Tons and tons and tons of Whales, seriously, they don't joke about the south having a high obesity rate.
2. Not much to do, in my 2 weeks there I gained about 8 lbs. In So cal I could easily burn it off because of the active lifestyle here, in GA? way harder! Place was pretty poor.
3. Not much variety, if you like Latinas or Asian girls say for instance, in most cases you are screwed, even though there are some there, they are in small numbers, at least outside of Atlanta.
4. Bad bad bad weather. One day it was 80 degrees, the next day it was like 50 degrees in the place, had me saying "wtf".

Now I understand my cousin's place is not the most desirable but here is the thing.

He is 19, hasn't kissed a girl before, has never f*cked before, has a bad sense of style, wears glasses with thick frames, isn't fat or overweight but isn't fit and athletic either, has never been on a date before, the school he went to he says had like 200 kids there or so.

Personally, even though I was fortunate enough to be raised in Southern California, I think my cousin is just whining. I mean it isn't like he is living in the middle east or anything.

Yes he will have to work harder to get laid and stuff, but is it a legit or fair excuse for a guy to blame his environment on his lack of success with women or just lack of success in general (diet, fitness, etc)?

Lol @ these dudes comparing suburbia to a small town.

If you're in a small town, 1 high school with 200 people in the graduating class, you're fucked in terms of hot chicks. There aren't that many chicks to begin with and hot chicks will # even lower. Gonna have to travel from town to town looking for new chicks - and the environment is where everyone knows everyone.

That's why you move. You don't need to hop a plane to Thailand or the Dominican Republic, but your cousin will have much more opportunity in Atlanta. Hell, Scottsdale Arizona would be better than any bumblefuck town in the US.
