Yeah, I couldn't put the link in because I don't have 10 posts yet. ha. I didn't realize i double posted either.
I'll let you know how thaifriendly goes. How many girls have you banged from doing day game in places like mbk?
How much thai do you need to know to talk to girls working at mbk?
I wasn't trying to pick up thai girls on khao san, I was hitting on white girls. I got a lot of girls giving me negative looks. At times it was worse than america. some girls were nicer.
I took a note of loads of numbers from girls working in shopping centres etc last time but barely had time to contact any of them as I had landed on my feet early on in a good social group and a memeber of the group always had something planned for me, wanted to show me something, take me somewhere or to meet someone. I was out every night being whisked around and shown cool things or introduced to people. I think if I followed through on the numbers it could have racked up a nice amount of bangs but I was getting laid anyway so didn't care so much. Try it and let us know. I'll be there in a couple weeks and I will try it too.
A lot of the girls talk English at the malls etc so knowing Thai not an issue. Might be an idea to open it it with a simple "Sawat dee, sabai dee mai?" then switch to English after that just to show you know something.
Surprised you had such negative reactions on KSR, my experiences were that everyone was happy to talk to everyone else because we were all travellers and doing the same shit. Never had any issues with women being bitchy.

I would always put something funny in the subject line, but in caveman English. Generally I would say "Your hair so suay, like mine." I shave my head so it was playful, and partly a neg. Suay means beautiful in Thai. And like I said, Thai bitches love emoticons lol.
Then in my subject I would just have a basic template about me being from California (DHV) and going on a 4 month Holiday to Thailand. Some girls I would tell I was there to wrestle, because I do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. However, one Thai girl told me she thought I did WWF type of wrestling lol, so I stopped using that.
I would usually also make a joke about needing a tour guide so I didn't get ran over by Tuk Tuk drivers in Bangkok.
Then if they respond give them your MSN, and also ask for theirs. Try to get them over to MSN to chat asap because Thai girls will spend HOURS on MSN, and not as much time on a dating site.
I would always be very heavy on the flirting. Most Thai girls liked this, a few didn't. You want that though so you can weed out the traditional girls.
I like your approach. I've been copying and pasting a simple message to as many girls as possible. My subject is usually "Sawat dee, sabai dee mai?" followed up with a message thats along the lines of:
"I'm from Scotland and soon I'll be moving to Bangkok for 6 months. Looking for someone cool to hang out. I want to learn about Thai life, history, culture and language. I like movies, music, food and clubs. If you want to chat then add me to MSN: xx@xxx.com"
It sounds retarded but 80% of them reply and add me to MSN and from nearly all of them I've spoken to on it seem keen to meet. Strangely when I've actually bothered to read a girls profile and send a custom message, usually because I've seen something genuinely cool or noticed we have similar interests, they haven't replied so much despite me beleiving the message to be strong. So seems this generic, copy & paste, bullshit works best. The proof will be in 2 weeks times, I've already taken most of the ones on MSNs phone numbers and will be lining up dates for every day of the week the second I get a SIM. It'll be my first stop after touching down at my accomodation, DTAC SIM and top up from 7/11, mass text sent out.
