Myself and PartyTime are going to Medellin in early September. Is anyone else going to be there? Roosh?

Any thoughts on stuff to do there besides pick up girls?

Things to do
Go to the casino if your bored they usually have poker tournaments every hour. Premium Plaza has the best Casino.
Go to el pueblito paisa, its how medellin used to look back in the day, and how alot of like towns look now.
Go to las palmas.
Go get some medical shit do
Probably one of my favorite things to do is to go to Santa Elena to this place called Monte Vivo. Its a nature reserve with a really long canopy line. They also have cabins and rooms for rent by the night. They guy who owns it is this really cool dude with a beard who looks like he couldve traveled with the gratefuldead.
PARAGLIDING
El parque norte is medellins version of an amusement park.
Also you can ride the Metro cables.

Too bad youll be missing las ferias, cause thats when this city really lights up.

There are things to do, but depends on how long you'll be here.
I've seen guys come here with no books, no intention of studying spanish, no projects, and just watch tv all day or surf the internet.

No close beach trips, but lots of tranquil towns (rionegro, sante fe) that gringos like.

Santa Fe is nice.

I only got to go there for the day but I would say its worth spending a weekend there. Nice hostels there and lots of bars for a small town.

He guys what's up? OK - I am a Spaniard by roots, born in New York, and have traveled extensively to Medellin, even own a condo in Poblado. I am fluent in Spanish/Portuguese as if I were a native. I love colombian woman (actually all women), but find the casual New York/Miami and even cowtown gringa/americana the most fun!

Coming up on January 2010, all of Colombian women head to Cartagena for Ultrafest (techno rave concerts) - anyone want advice/meet-up - let me know. January is the equivalent of summertime (august) for them. Schools are finished and done for the year in December.

I am all about picking up - so, please do not ask me about Pro (prepago) women, as there are way to many women willing to give it to me for free or the price of one bottle of water, and an ice cream cone, with cabfare home. ;-)

Ha, I was just granted a visa for Colombia today. I'll arrive to Medellin on 5th January 2010 and I've got couple of weeks to explore the city, get an apartment or just head for the coast before my uni courses start at EAFIT. Maybe we can find some mutual time and hang out there, if some of you guys are there at that time.

armanid27, can you share more info on that ultrafest? I'm googling already but didnt find much info yet..

To be clear, prepago = golddigger.

They exist in Medellin just like they do everywhere in the US. Don't psych yourself out.

Humm..if you say so - I don't do hookers. Although if that is all she is charging, she'd propbably be a low-end strata 1 pro - becuase I've heard a Poblado pro can easily go up to more than 2,000USD.

Natalia Paris, in her hooker days says she charged up to 10KUSD to her narco lovers.

That's about all I'll say on the topic, as it really has very little interest to me, and I don't know too much about the pro scene. But I'm certain teher are boards that cater to it.

In colombia, local men say - "que paguen los mudos y los feos". I agree.

I'm curious, you needed to be granted a Visa to visit Colombia? I've always seen Colombia as an open-door policy to just about every country - and you get a tourist Visa when you show up at the DAS booth. Unless you applied for a marriage Visa or foreign investor Visa to obtain a national cedula.

well, as I am digging deeper, the Cartageneros are objecting to the festival this year - they are tired of all the drug use - blah blah that they claim ruins the city for the week with techno kids.

If it does happen, search around facebook for the following

Ultramar Festival & summer dance festival.

They may just move it to another location like Santa Marta eventually - still, a must visit in January regardless....
